A few days later, Sero found himself at the other's apartment again, this time at Shinsou's invitation. It was a lazy Saturday morning, the sky outside still gray with the promise of rain. Shinsou was in the kitchen, making coffee, while Tipi curled up on Sero's lap, her contented purring filling the quiet space.Sero leaned back against the couch, his hand absently stroking Tipi's soft fur.
"She's so spoiled," he mused, his voice low and calm."Isn't that your fault?" The other called from the kitchen, the sound of the coffee machine whirring in the background.
"Hey, I'm not the one who lets her sleep on my bed every night."
Shinsou emerged from the kitchen with two mugs of steaming coffee, handing one to Sero as he sat down beside him.
"That's because you don't have a cat," he replied, his tone deadpan but his eyes gleaming with amusement.Sero took the coffee gratefully, wrapping his hands around the warm mug.
"Fair enough. But I've gotta say, I'm kinda getting attached."The purple haired boy raised an eyebrows, his smirk softening into something more playful.
"Tipi or me?"The boy nearly choked on his coffee, caught completely off guard. He coughed, laughing as he wiped his mouth.
"Both, I guess."Shinsou chuckled, leaning back on the couch. The atmosphere between them was comfortable, easy in a way that felt almost too natural. Neither of them needed to say much; the quiet spoke for itself.
They sat there for a while, sipping their coffee and watching the light rain that had started to drizzle outiside. Shinsou's apartment was small but cozy, filled with the scent of fresh coffee and the soft sound of Tipi's purring. Sero could feel the tension in his chest slowly unwinding, the constant buzzing in his head growing quieter.
"You're always welcome here, you know," Shinsou said suddenly, breaking the silence. His voice was calm, but there was an undertone of sincerity that made Sero look at him.
"Thanks, man. That means a lot."
Shinsou met his gaze, something unspoken passing between them - a shared understanding, a connection that neither of them had expected but both of them needed.
And for the first time in a long time, Sero felt like he belonged somewhere. Right here, in this small apartment, with Shinsou and Tipi, on a lazy morning filled with coffee and rain.
