The Weekend That Never Happened

The following monday arrived like a storm after a calm. It wasn't unusual for the school hallways to be filled with chatter, but the energy today was different - there was an edge to the whispers, a certain weight to the glances that were cast Sero and Shinsou's way.

Walking together through the entrance of UA, Sero could feel the stares drilling into them, and he shifted uncomfortably beside Shinsou. The weekend's chaotic party seemed to have triggered a wave of rumors, not just about what actually happened, but about things that hadn't. Whispers clung to them like shadows.

Kirishima was the main topic of concern. Several people had heard about his meltdown at the party - how he had pushed his limits, gotten too drunk, and ended up causing a scene. Some people were genuinely worried, but others seemed more entertained by the drama than anything else.

"Did you hear about Kirishima? Man, he went wild," someone said as they passed by a group of students in the hallway.

But as Sero tuned in to more of the rumors, he began to hear something else - a murmur that made his blood run cold.

"Yeah, Shinsou and Sero were involved in some sketchy stuff too... apparently, Shinsou's got a lot more going on than we all thought."

The black haired boy clenched his fists, trying to hold back his frustration. These rumors weren't just baseless - they were cruel. Shinsou, who stood beside him, appeared unbothered on the surface, but Sero knew better. He could feel the tension in the other's posture, the way his eyes narrowed just slightly whenever they walked past groups of students whispering behind their hands.

They made it to their classroom, but it wasn't long before the purple haired boy overheard the wrong thing.

"I heard Shinsou was into some real dark stuff. Like, way more than just fighting with villains. People say he's been sneaking out for shady reasons."

It was like a punch to the gut, and Sero immediately turned to his boyfriend. He could see it in his eyes - the flicker of hurt that the boy was trying to hide.

Shinsou set his jaw and moved past the group without a word, but Sero could sense the strain beneath the calm exterior.

They sat down at their desks, trying o shake off the unease. The black haired boy felt the weight of the rumors pressing down on him. He hated that people were saying things about his boyfriend - twisting his past, the things that were deeply personal and painful, into something salacious.

As class went on, Sero's mind kept wandering back to the party, to the way things had spun out of control, and now, the consequences were spreading like wildfire. Kirishima was barely in class, and when he showed up, his usual bright and happy face seemed clouded with regret.

Shinsou, though keeping quiet, was clearly affected by the rumors. Even when they walked out after class, Sero noticed the way Shinsou's eyes avoided the groups of students whispering. It didn't take long before Shinsou finally spoke up.

"They're not going to stop, are they?" He said quietly as they made their way to the courtyard.

The black haired boy frowned. "They don't know what they're talking about, Shinsou. They're just... looking for drama, you know?"

Shinsou gave a small, dry laugh. "Yeah, well... it's hard to ignore it when it's all about me."

Sero bit his lip, unsure how to respond. He wanted to protect the other, to make the rumors go away, but they both knew there wasn't much they could do. Still, he wasn't about to let Shinsou face this alone.

"I'll make sure it dies down," he promised. "People will forget soon enough. You'll see."

But the violet eyed boy didn't seem convinced. He looked away, his expression tight. "Let's hope so."
