Flying Lessons

"Ohh okay I'll go get a tutu and I'll be right back!" I said as I set down the small drone with a laugh. I wave at V and J who just realized I was recording. I left quickly just as they both got up. I can't wait to join in but before I do that I should move this recording to my black mail folder.

E POV

I was currently making a giant stack of things I was able to find around the spire. TT looked disinterested while she was talking to GeGe. GeGe and TT had been arguing about something dealing with as J puts it the all seeing company. I don't quite get how it's all seeing but what ever.

When I finally completed the stack of stuff I began climbing to the top. I was giggling as I did after all this was so much fun. I couldn't wait to jump off a fly like the others it looked like so much fun.

The flights that I did with Baba was so much fun. I mean he would hold me as I flew but that still counts. It had been a whole two months since my first hunt but Baba still hasn't let me fly by myself. I had gotten so much better with talking. I can say big words now!

I got to the top of the stack. I opened my wings before jumping into the cold snow. I pouted as I got a mouthful of snow and had to shake off the snow from my wings. I heard TT laughing. "E if you want to learn how to fly you can't just jump off of a 3 foot high stack of metal."

———Time Skip———

Third Person POV

"This is where you should learn how to fly" V said as she held up E. They were on the tallest remaining building that was still standing. J seemed unsure about this especially since they would be doing this without N.

Usually J wouldn't care about the drone's opinion but for some reason this felt wrong. Especially since N had no idea where they had taken E nor what they plan to do. E looked excited about the promise of learning how to fly.

"Are we sure about this?" J whispered as she looked at E jumping around the unstable roof. "Why not the kids gotta learn one way or another. And besides E has two disassembly drones with them aka us." V said turning to J with a hand on her hip. "We can make sure they don't get hurt and return them before N even gets back." V said.

"Now then, let's get this show on the road." V said as she walked past J. She picked up the unsuspecting E and held them up. "Now E just think about clouds or whatever you do when you open your wings okay?" V said as E nodded with an "okay TT."

V held them as she walked over to the side of the building. "Now here we go!" V said before throwing them. "Weeeeee!" E giggled as they fell through the air. Their eye lights were closed as they giggled.

"Um V they haven't opened their wings" J said as she looked at the small drone getting smaller. "They can handle it" V said with a dismissive smile. As E opened their eyes they looked down it seemed they understood the gravity of the situation (pun intended). Their giggles turned into screams.

"V!" J said worried "They're getting too close to the ground." J was about to open her own wings when V said "Yeah they're not gonna fly" and flew off. V dived to catch up to the small drone who had started to panic. Thankfully V had managed to catch them easily and soon landed with the small drone in her hands.

J landed next to her. E was still in shock but as soon as that wore off they were a mess of giggles. "Again, again!" They shouted with an excited expression. Just as V was about to say yes J interrupted with a fake cough. "Have either of you noticed the moon" She said as she pointed to the moon specifically at the moon's position in the sky. It was obvious that the moon was setting.

"We need to get home V. And we should pray to RoboGod that N isn't awake." J whispered as she grabbed E. They both flew off in a hurry hoping that N hadn't gotten to the spire yet and if he was that he was asleep. E looked down over the city with glee. J usually doesn't fly so fast nor does she fly as low as she was. E looked at the ruined city below and noticed a strange purple thing in a car but J flew too fast for them to make out what the thing was.

Soon enough they gotten back to the spire. It seemed they were in the clear that was until a cough was heard. N looked surprisingly upset as he glared at the two older drones. "Where have you all been do you know how late it is?" N asked. The drone looked very upset as his hands rested on his hips. He had a small frown on his face as he spoke. "We just went-" V was coming up with an excuse when E decided to open their mouth. "TT threw me off a roof!" E said happily resulting in V and J's eye lights hollowing. N stared in shock as he seemed to process what E had just said.

N quickly took E from J and set them down. "Little buddy I need you to go into the drop pod okay?" N said as E nods before running off and into the drop pod. N then turned to face his crush and boss. "I am happy that you both are building a relationship with E." N began which eased V and J worries. They were worried that N would be angry but it seemed that they were worried for nothing.

"But are you both crazy! They're a kid V you can't just throw them off of buildings!" N said firmly making the drones turn towards him. "Why would you throw E off of a building and without even giving me a warning! What if they got hurt or worse!" N said upset about the idea of E getting hurt. J tried to intervene and calm down the two parties but was ignored as V spoke. Both V and N's voices were slowly rising as they argued. "I caught them so what's the big deal" V asked dismissive and irritated.

"The issue isn't that you caught them it's what if you didn't catch them in time or if they got hurt due to your recklessness." N said as V turned away clearly not willing to listen. "V why won't you listen to me?" N asked he seemed agitated. This felt familiar to N and he wasn't sure why.

"I think you both need to stop hanging out with E for a little." N said clearly dejected. "What you can't just take them away!" V shouted which seemed to make N even more irritated. "I will if you continue to endanger them with your recklessness!" N shouted shocking both himself and the girls. "I'm going to put E to bed. Good night." N flew off into the drop pod. He didn't think he would yell at V of all drones.

What met him was a sad sight. E has their hands over their hearing sensors. E saw N and looked a quite sad. "Are you mad at me?" E was clearly crying if the yellow digital tears were anything to go by. N's eye lights hollowed out at the question. "What no. Little buddy I'm not upset with you... I'm just upset at V and J. I could never be upset with you." N said as he picked up the small drone.

"But you sounded so mad." E said quietly. "We just had a bit of a misunderstanding. It's okay." N sounded as if he didn't believe himself. He put on a brave face on for E he was worried that the lingering irritation may give them the wrong impression. "Hey how about when we go hunting tomorrow night we can scavenge for those stickers you love so much." N said softly as the small drone looked up at him excited. E looked up at him happily as they hugged him "That would be amazing thanks Baba!" N always liked it when they called him that they were just so adorable similar to those four legged creatures. Well he thought they were cute from the small amount of memories he had. Although, the images were always so blurry.

"Well it's time for bed" N said as E immediately put on a pout. "Do I have to?" E said as they tried to get out of sleeping. "Yes you can't be on your A game if you're sleepy can you?" N said with a laugh. E gasped "we have to go sleep come on Baba!" E had a small competition with J about who could gather the most drones. And although E always lost they were adamant that they would win one day. E then grabbed N's hand and tried to get him to move faster. N laughed as he scooped up the small drone.

N held E close as they soon fell asleep. His wings wrapping around them both. E held their blanket close. They always had it when they slept. Small snores left the young disassembly drone.
