Part 9

A few years later, Rose was three. Alex was five. He was starting school, and she would start preschool soon. Rose didn't turn to stone at all. To everyone, she was completely human. She was officially part gargoyle, just didn't show it in looks. She had Goliath's hair color but looked like her mom.

Elisa was back to working as a full-time detective. Goliath often helped her. But they always made sure that Rose was taken care of no matter what.

Lexington had been a big help with babysitting like he had with Alex. Rose and Alex would play together too when Lex watched them.

All the clan members did their job to watch over Rose and she even played with Taichi too. Taichi was a little behind on age as she wouldn't age as fast. But they still seemed to get along.

Broadway and Angela loved being like surrogate parents since having their own child was still years away.

Goliath had his clan all be her parents too. He wanted Rose to be part of the communal raising, as did Brooklyn and Katana for Taichi.

As a favor to Alex, Coldstone and Coldfire were also turned mortal again, and renamed Othello and Desdemona. Even they helped look after their niece too, along with looking after Taichi too.

The whole clan took the watching over process seriously. They couldn't be so carefree anymore, not with a few children to look after now.

Despite Rose's looks of looking completely human, she knew that Goliath was her father, and she was at ease being raised among the gargoyles. But Elisa wanted her to grow up being able to go to school too and make human friends as well when she got old enough.

Goliath was for that too, but if she was found to be too different, then she would have an education right here at home. And the clan would have plenty to teach her.

Peter and Diane saw Rose a few times a month too and relished spoiling her too, like what grandparents were supposed to do with their grandkids. They did the same with Mike. Mike and Rose were just born many months apart, not quite a year.

There would later also be the union of the gargoyle clans of the world, and they were to never know that Rose was half human/half gargoyle. To them, she was perfectly human and mostly ignored her.

Maybe one day they would find out, but her parents told her not to tell strangers anything at all.

Years later, Rosalita was a full young woman and a student in training to become a cop like her mom. She would always support gargoyles. By now, she knew her heritage.

Growing up, the males of the clan had been very overprotective of her, especially her own dad. But he still supported her dreams.

Taichi was still growing up. She was more the equivalent of a ten-year-old. She was over twenty. She wished she could be an adult gargess right now. She was also going to be a big sister soon too. Brook and Katana had had one last egg together that was waiting to hatch in the rookery.

Broadway and Angela were also waiting on an egg to hatch too.

Lex had found a mate from the London Clan. It was another male, but they both had still taken part in the last breeding season too with females. They just didn't know which females carried their eggs.

Bronx was mates with Boudicca from Angela's clan on Avalon. Fu-dog had a mate too from a female gar dog from China of modern day. It was important that they breed too. Gar dogs were so rare in the clans.

Nowadays, humans and gargoyles were allies placed legally. Gargoyles had full rights as citizens and sentient beings under the human laws, and it was illegal to hunt gargoyles. Anyone who was caught doing so would be punished severely.

Gargoyles had also been classified as endangered, and it would take a long time to recover the numbers from all the centuries of hunting and killing of them.

Goliath and Elisa were so happy that their two races had been united as allies and there was hope for gargoyles now to survive long into the future.

Brooklyn and Katana knew how far into the future it would go too, having seen things from the future on their time dancing adventures. But they were glad to not be doing it anymore. They had earned their lives of having a stable home life.

With the gargoyle clans united and life flourishing, life couldn't be much better than this. Alex Xanatos and Rose Maza were both ambassadors to the gargoyle clans too. They even held affection for one another.

Hudson was still around too and a great consultant of ancient times. His health was sadly declining, but he was a greatly honored gargoyle warrior too for his legacy and age.

Beth was a cop on the force now and had her own two kids with a man. A girl and boy.

Mike Maza was also part of the cop team too. It was just his destiny to do it too like his dad had done.

The Xanatos' and Owen were still around too, doing their business stuff.

Everyone had their places and ones they loved dearly. And bigger clans too. What more could they all ask for?
