Third Person POV
Buck gently placed Aria down on the soft hospital bed, Aria immediately curled up into a ball and went under the blanket. Buck's eyes watched intently as she made herself comfortable.
Aria whispered a quiet "Thank you" under her breath as she dozed off once again. Buck was surprised she even answered, she was so exhausted when he picked her up. Not to mention how light she was.
Buck sat in silence, deep in thought until Eddie spoke. "Thank you for looking out for her" Eddie rubbed his eyes, exhaling a deep breath through his nose.
"It's all good man, just doing what anyone would do" Buck's eyes never left Aria's sleeping face as he spoke to Eddie. It was like Buck thought she would disappear if he looked away for one moment.
Eddie saw the way Buck looked at his baby sister, he knew he cared deeply for her despite meeting her just today. It wasn't the worst thought that Buck and Aria may get together. Buck had a kind soul and always had the best intention, even if he is a sex addict.
Eddie's still couldn't wrap his head around the fact that someone would take pleasure in hurting his baby sister. His precious sister who said goodnight to every single one of her plushies until she was 15 or who cries at the sight of seeing old people sitting alone.
Buck was also deep in thought, he could not get over how cute she was sleeping. When she was awake she was this snappy, sassy woman but when she was asleep she was as cute as a bunny. She even did the bunny scrunch every now and then in her sleep. The question 'how could someone want to hurt her' raced through his mind.
Soon everyone once again dozed off. The morning came around in the blink of an eye. The sun beamed it's warm comfort onto Aria's eyes. She slowly cracked her eyes open as she also took a deep breath.
She rubbed her eyes roughly as she was still half asleep, the first thing she noticed was the 2 men sat on either side of her bed. That's when her mind flashed through the events of last night, a smile made it's way onto her face.
She heard a knock on the door then the doctor's friendly face immerged from behind the door. Eddie's and Buck's head shot up at the sound of the door creaking open but relaxed the second they saw the doctor.
"You are all set to go home Aria" The doctor cheerfully spoke the news to Aria. Her face immediately lit up at the mention of leaving this depressing place. Buck admired Aria's excitement, it even brought a smile to his own face seeing her happy.
"That's amazing news, lets go now pleaseee" Aria said giving Eddie puppy eyes. Mind you Eddie was still half asleep. He let out a breathy chuckle and rubbed his eyes.
"Fine, fine." Aria felt like she could do cartwheels she was that excited. Eddie had to push her down to make sure she didn't leap out of the bed and go straight back down from getting up to quickly.
Minutes later Aria had changed out of the horrible hospital gown and had packed all her stuff back into her suitcase. She was then walking, well practically running out of the hospital doors and towards Buck's car as he was going to drive Eddie and Aria home.
She jumped in the back seat as Buck loaded her suitcase in the back of his jeep, Aria could not fight the massive smile creeping it's way onto her face as she looked out the window and at her surroundings. She could still not believe she made it out, now she could do whatever she wanted with her life.
Buck looked over at Eddie and Eddie looked over at him. A pitiful looked was exchanged between the firefighters. They knew they were both thinking the same thing. 'How bad was the abuse for her to be surprised by the tiniest bit of freedom?'
Buck started up the car and then began driving to Eddie's house while Aria admired the beautiful city of California.
"Chris is waiting at home for you Duck. He is still a bit shaken up about yesterday but he should be fine. He is so excited to see you." Aria had completely forgotten Chris walked in during an extreme panic attack, her smile faded as massive amounts of guilt clouded her brain.
Moments later Buck pulled into Eddie's driveway. He looked at Eddie then Aria with an encouraging smile on his face. Everyone got out of the car, Buck grabbing Aria's suitcase. Aria shot him a grateful look and continued on her way to the door.
Aria stood slightly behind Eddie as her nerves rushed to her body, she hadn't seen this kid for 7 years. Now she's gonna live with him for God knows how long. She wouldn't be surprised if Chris wanted her to leave, she couldn't blame him.
Eddie swung the door open and sat on the lounge was a small 8 year old boy, her nephew Chris. She slowly inched forwards and made her way to Chris. He welcomed her with a loving smile and his signature giggle.
Her heart warmed at the sight, she was surprised to how open he was towards her. He very quickly opened his arms widely for a hug. Aria was a bit taken back but of course accepted the hug. She could feel tears welling in her eyes.
Eddie just sat back and watched the sweet interaction between 2 of the people he loves most in this world. He knew Chris would be ecstatic to meet his 'fiery Tia Aria'.
Eddie had told him many stories about their childhood, one story even included the time Aria yelled at boys for bullying Eddie and chased them away. Chris looked up to his Tia even though he can't remember the memories he shared with her.
"Hi Chris, you've gotten so big. Oh my gosh!" Aria spoke as she sniffled her nose trying her hardest to hold back her tears. She missed out on seeing this beautiful young boy grow up because of a abusive man.
"Yeah, I guess I have." Chris replies, a bit confused on why she's crying but going along with it. Buck just stood in the doorway watching the heart warming scene play out.
"Alright, well I better get going guys." Buck broke the silence in the room. Aria made her way to the door way and wrapped her arms around Buck's neck.
She whispered in his ear. "Thank you, for everything Evan." Aria knew what she was doing to him, they could both sense some unspoken rivalry going on.
Buck's eyes went wide, no one had called him Evan in years. He liked the way it sounded coming out of her mouth. He had been such deep in though he hadn't realized he had been hugging Aria for too long.
Buck quickly pulled himself out of the hug. He awkwardly cleared his throat, said his final goodbyes and went on his way. As soon as Buck had left the house, Aria burst into a fit of laughter. Eddie's worries faded away and the only thing on his mind right now, is the fact his little sister is having a good time. That's all that matters right now. In this moment.
Soon everyone was getting to bed, today was exhausting and everyone was ready to fall into a deep sleep. Eddie had organized for him and Aria to sleep together in his king size bed. Aria described it as 'a slumber party'.
Aria was laying in bed, thoughts racing through her mind. She heard her brother shift next to her and decided to ask him now or she would never get the courage again.
"Eddie, Edddiieee" Aria tried shaking her brother awake. All she got in return was a few groans from Eddie's mouth and one 'leave me alone'.
"EDMUNDO" Aria whisper shouted right into his ear. He sprung awake like she had never seen before.
"Who's dying" Of course Eddie's mind went straight to 'somethings wrong'. Aria was trying to find the courage to let the words leave her mouth. She knew he would be on board with the idea it's more of deciding if she's ready for it.
"I want to go back to doing 911 dispatching" The words finally left Aria's mouth.
