Elara stormed past me so fast after claiming I was eavesdropping on her. I tried to turn and say something after her, but she quickly returned to the house. I turned back to Gabrielle, who looked at me like I was in trouble. "How much of that did you hear?" he asked, walking towards me. "I swear to you I didn't hear anything!" I stay standing firm in my position. "What's her deal?" I ask, turning to look back at the house. "She is mighty, and I feel something inside of her is very dark," Gabrielle says, coming to my side. I turned and looked at him, confused by the information he had given me. "come on, let's go back to the house," He said, walking away. "Gabrielle? Is she going to be okay?" I ask, still taking in what was just said.

We started the walk back to the house, moving slowly. "So tell me, Tarin, what have you and your brother been up to?" Gabrielle asks, moving in sync with me."Umm, just school and Pitball." I say, kicking a rock. "Oh yeah, Pitball, I had my short stint in the pit," Gabrielle says, chuckling. "You know your aunt Elise was an amazing Pitball player, and Leon was too!" He says, cracking a smile. "Yeah, I saw their picture at the academy when they came to the school to play!" I say, continuing my slow strides. "You know she needs a friend more than anything," Gabrielle says with no more context to his words. "What?" I say, confused. "Elara, she needs someone on her side, especially when she feels no one is." He continues as we finally reach the house.

At the moment I was going to respond, Elise came out yelling, "We should make smores!". Leon grabbed her waist from behind and agreed with her sentiments, kissing Elise. I always felt like this family was a little weird. I mean, four husbands and one wife? What kind of life is that?

Elara followed RJ as they came out of the house, holding marshmallows, chocolates, and graham crackers. We all gather around the fire that has been burning for a while. The only empty stump was right next to Elara. I walked up hesitantly after the interaction we had just had. I grab a seat on the stump and look over at her. She looked at the marshmallows and chocolate for a minute before I asked, "Do you want help?". "Umm, sure, I guess I never really got the chance to do this." She said, pushing back tears. I grab the marshmallow and place it on the stick, holding a piece of chocolate and two-gram crackers. "How do you want your marshmallow toasted?" I ask, shooting her a look. "I don't know, toasty, I guess!" She says, giggling. I forgot how cute her little giggles were. I got lost staring into her eyes when I heard, "Stronzo, you're on fire!" Dante said from the other side of the fire. "Oh shit!" I say, grabbing the marshmallow and blowing on it. Elara continues to giggle as I try to get the fire out on the stick; suddenly, I feel a gust of wind from where Elara is sitting. She falls back onto RJ, laughing so hard I thought she would pee her pants.

"Thanks," I say, taking the marshmallow off the stick and placing it on the prepared chocolate and graham crackers. I hand her the sandwich and watch as she takes the first bite. "Oh my god! She says, moaning into the bite. I start laughing at her as she pulls away with chocolate on the side of her mouth. I instinctively took my finger and wiped the chocolate off her mouth, making her blush. We stare at each other briefly before I hear a clear throat behind us. I turn around to see Gabrielle staring at us.

I pull back into my seat on the stump as Elara continues to giggle and moan into her smores sandwich. This was the weird girl I remembered!
