Zodiac Academy: New Gen

Gabrielle Chapter 21

We all decide that it is not safe to be in this house anymore. We move out to my house in the hills as it is the farthest from any souls that would potentially betray us. I pull up to the house first, landing, pulling my wings in immediately. RJ is sitting on the porch reading a book when she looks up. "Hey dad, how was the council meeting?" she asks, closing the book. "Where is your mother?" I respond, not answering her question. "She is inside cleaning the kitchen with the other dads. Why?" she asks, concerned. "Elara has been taken, and the others are on their way here." I say, walking into the house with RJ in tow. "What do you mean taken?" RJ Asks, following me into the kitchen, drawing the attention of everyone else. "Taken? who?" Ryder asks, putting a dish in the cabinet. "Elara." I say shortly, locking eyes with Elise. "What by who?" she says, stepping close to me. " I'm not sure, but whoever it is is very powerful and wants her to release a soul maybe more." I say, walking over to the table. "Oh my god" Elise says, backing into the counter. "The others will be here any minute." I add looking around. "They are coming here?" Dante asks, looking at me. "This is one of the only places I know with no souls attached" I add, looking back at him.

Before I say anymore, the others knock at the door. RJ walks over to the door, letting them in. Everyone gathers in and around the kitchen. "RJ please take the others to the backyard." I say motioning to the young ones gathered. "Im staying" Tarin says, looking to Rygar, who also nods his head. I nod at them and wave the others off. "Tell us everything, Gabrielle." Seth says, holding onto Caleb.

"Elara came to me after she got home to talk. She told me that when she was at the Holliday party, she kept seeing a figure in the corner staring at her. She saw him when she was in the woods, too. It came on stronger when she was locked in the closet." Gabrielle says, looking around. "Wait locked in a closet?" Seth says, exchanging looks with Caleb. "That was my fault. I thought it was a game. It wasn't until after I realized it wasn't" Rygar owns up. Tarin pats him on the back, giving him his support as everyone looks around at each other. " When she was in the closet, the figure told her he wanted her to free him, and when she denied him, he said he would make her or else." I continue drawing every ones attention back to me.

"When she came here, she told me what happened, and I told her I would look into if it's even possible to free a soul." I haven't found anything on it yet except some old Greek mythology, but it would be impossible. "Then who do we think took her if it's not even possible?" Tory asks, locking hands with Darius. "Thats what we need to figure out." I say, standing up.

"The Greek Mythology.... What did it say?" Caleb asks nervously. "It claimed the goddess of death Persephone can raise the dead through soul binding placing a soul within a living body." I say, taking in a deep breath. "It would be nearly impossible" I add, trying to ease the room. Caleb and Seth exchange a look that concerns me, but before I can ask them a question, Tarin butts in.

"How do we find out who this person is who took her?" Tarin asks, clenching his fists. "I will try and summon visions of Elara, see if I can find anything showing me the woman." I say, looking at him. "Until then, we need to retrace steps. Figure out if she has come across anyone. Maybe at school?" I say, looking back to Caleb. "It wouldn't have been at Zodiac. We were together 24/7." Tarin adds in. "I don't think it would have been at Zodiac either. It would have been at the other academy" I say, looking at the group.

"We need to move fast." Tory says, looking at me. "If what Tarin said is correct and her eyes were black when she looked at him, then there is darkness present inside her." Tory continues. "The longer the darkness has a hold on her, the harder it is to get her out." Darcy adds in.

"Caleb and Seth, why don't you guys go to her old school and see if you can find anything. I will try and summon visions. Everyone else tries and does as much digging into Lionel and who he may have still serving him" I say, giving the group assurance.

"Please be careful the longer she is the darkness. The less control she is of her powers, the more the darkness will spare no one." I say, looking between Rygar and Tarin, who I know I can't control when it comes to Elara.

"Caleb, Seth, can I have a minute?" I ask, pulling them into another room. "If there is something you guys aren't telling us that could help us get Elara back, it's your time to speak" I say, looking between them. They exchange the same look from earlier. "You know that two males can not have a baby together it takes a female to make that happen." Caleb starts looking back to Seth. "We went through an extensive search for a surrogate for both the kids." Seth adds in. "When we finally came down to two options that would give us the strongest but yet two that could look just like us, we were ready to go." Caleb continues. "Kales surrogate was so easy to communicate and work with. Elaras, on the other hand, towards the end of the pregnancy, was starting to experience complications and would babble on about the baby inside her." Seth picks up where Caleb left off. " she said that she could feel the danger inside her and that this baby would be the goddess of death." Seth says, looking down. "We thought she was just having a mental break being pregnant and what not. The baby was born healthy and beautiful." Seth continues with the story. "When she started to see and speak to the dead, we questioned it a bit, but she wasn't dangerous. We thought it was a gift, just like being a seer like you." Caleb says, pointing to me. I take in what they have told me for a second. "We don't know for sure if the Greek mythology is true. Elara could just be another Fae with gifts. But we should look into the mythology and treat it as another lead." I say standing. If this is true, everyone needs to be extra careful. Elara may be way more powerful than we ever could have thought.
