Episode 25: An Escape

The next episode opens with the cabin group buzzing with excitement. The intercom messages over the past week have been full of updates, but today’s was the most important—the rescue team is coming. For the first time in what feels like forever, they have hope. Relief washes over them, knowing they might finally be leaving this nightmare behind.

Confessional - Axel:
"I can't believe we're finally leaving this hellhole." she says smiling.

Chef stands at the front of the cabin, commanding everyone to pack up.

"Alright, listen up. Get your bags ready. Grab anything you can’t leave behind. We’re walking out of here at 17:00 hours!"

Julia, distracted, can’t stop thinking about MK. She eyes the red jacket lying at the foot of MK's bunk, her heart heavy. Without thinking twice, she grabs it and shoves it into her backpack. She zips it up quickly, trying to suppress the sadness that threatens to bubble to the surface.

Wayne and Raj huddle together, frantically packing their bags. They make sure to include all their hockey gear, the same stuff they brought with them for the season. Despite the looming danger, it’s a small comfort to have something from their everyday life—something normal in the chaos.

Caleb throws his backpack over his shoulder, then reaches for Damien’s bag.

"I got this, man," Caleb says, giving Damien a small nod. The gesture is appreciated, even though neither says much. There’s a silent bond between them now, born out of shared fear and the moments of survival they’ve endured.

It’s 5:00pm—time to go.

The group gathers outside the cabin, bags in hand. The air feels thick with tension, but there’s a current of optimism underneath. No one’s been murdered for over a week, but that doesn’t mean they can let their guard down.

They huddle close as they begin their trek to the water, keeping an eye on the dense forest around them. Chef leads the way, Axel right by his side, ever alert. Everyone else stays close behind, the hockey bros whispering nervously while Bowie stays silent, his eyes scanning for any sudden movement.
