The Garo's name was Czan. Czan was a kind Garo, and offered Skull Kid the care and treatment that he needed. Czan prepared meals for Skull Kid every day. Czan and Skull Kid lived together for months. Skull Kid never knew why Czan was helping him. But he felt deeply moved. Besides, Czan's great cooking took his mind of Tatl and Tael. Czan was the one of the only friends that Skull Kid had ever had. And Skull Kid knew that he was lucky that Czan was helping him.
When Czan wasn't cooking, he was fighting. Fighting was a common sport in the community of the Garo. And Czar was a celebrity, a champion in the sport. Sometimes, when Skull Kid was bored, he would accompany Czan on the way to the gladiator ring behind Stonetower Temple. It was entertaining to watch the Garos fight. There motions were so fluid, and they strung their attacks together so fluidly. The only downside was that the losing Garo had to set a bomb at their feet. That was the law of the Garo. Losing is punished by death. But, luckily for Skull Kid, Czan was the Garo Master. So he didn't lose.
Czan loved to fight, and Skull Kid loved to watch. Sometimes, Skull Kid would practice some of Czan's moves in his bedroom. He was nowhere near as talented or coordinated as Czan. He wanted nothing more than to be just like his Garo ally. He looked up to him, like a toddler to his mother. Skull Kid spent weeks with Czan. So long, that he could occasionally forget about Tatl and Tael. But only occasionally. Czan was the only being that Skull Kid felt comfortable being around in all of Termina. Skull Kid depended on Czan. And Skull Kid was lucky that Czan felt the same way.
