Skull Kid felt the wind blow through his straw cap. These people that he looked down upon were all awful, spiteful beings. They would accept him, or they would feel the consequences. The people started to crawl out of their luxurious hotels. They gazed at the top of the tower, where Skull Kid stood, staring down at them. They shouted at him, throwing rocks and trash at him. But Skull Kid just stood there. He knew that today was the day. Today was the day that they would finally understand. They would accept him and he would have lots of friends. He could feel it in his gut. Hours later, when he knew that everyone was in the square, he began his speech. He told them that everyone deserved a chance. That no matter how ugly the looked, no matter how bad they seemed, everyone deserved a chance. All he'd ever wanted was their approval. They'd shrugged him off for too long. Today they would accept him as one of them. But when they shook their heads and started leave, something snapped inside of Skull Kid. For the first time, he didn't want these people to like him. They were despicable. He wanted to teach them a lesson. And there was only one way for him to do it. Skull Kid spit down at the people below. As it landed on some chubby guy's head, Skull Kid started to lean forward. The wind gave a big blow. It carried him off of the clock tower. Skull Kid felt like he was falling forever. But to the onlookers, it happened in less than a second. Skull Kid was gone. Nothing was left but his straw hat. To die without leaving a corpse. That is the law of the Garo. If Skull Kid would've looked up before he fell, he would've seen Tatl, Tael, and Czan, smiling down at him. They all knew how much he wanted to fly. And his dream had finally come true.
