Gaurup - Beginning of Love

15. Shaadi Mubaarak

Finally, the special day arrived. Sun rose symbolising a new dawn in the lives of two souls who are going to unite today as one, forever. Peshwa Nana Rao Fort was adorned with marigold garlands and flowers, sending out royal vibes. Huge mandap was set with four pillars surrounding it, carved with ancient sculptures depicting ram-siya's marriage. Havan kund was being set by the pandit ji. Cushioned chairs were arranged for the guests and appetizers were being served for all guests who were arriving. 

The Khannas and the Gangulys looked Royal in their traditional attires with perfect jewelleries complementing their looks. Gaurav's father and mother were welcoming the guests. Vijay ganguly was checking preparations near the mandap. Rajni aunty was making sure appetizers were being served to guests. Gaurup's anupamaa gang were running around receiving guests and taking selfies. As the time neared, excitement increased in the atmosphere.

Gaurav adjusted his royal golden embellished kurta. His left ring finger had his engagement diamond ring on it which sparkled brightly. He wore his Maserati Golden Fossil Watch and stepped into his golden coloured Manyavar Groom's Royal shoes. His stylist made last minute adjustments. Gaurav wore his favourite cologne and looked at himself in the mirror. 

Stylist sony was doing the last minute touch up on RG. She wore Bright red bangles and huge golden bangles. Her beautiful feet were adorned with Golden anklets with small trinklets making sounds. Her neck carried traditional bridal jewellery and same set of maang tikka adorned her forehead. Beautiful big jhumkas occupied her ears.  

After placing Gajra on her bridal bun, Sony helped her wear the soft viscose georgette veil, fixing it firmly on her head. Rajni mummy entered Rg's room and took one look at her daughter. Tears gathered in her eyes and she kissed her daughter's forehead,warding off evil eyes from her. 

Just then sashi maa entered Rg's room and gasped softly looking at her bahu. She wiped some kajal from her eyes and applied it behind Rg's ear with tear welled eyes.

Parallely, Vinod papa saw GK ready as a groom and felt overwhelmed seeing his son finally ready to start the next important journey in his life. He held his shoulders emotionally and both hugged for a brief time.

Both Rupali and Gaurav looked at themselves in their respective mirrors ready as bride and groom and exhaled with nervousness and happiness.

Vinod papa, Sashi maa, Rajni aunty, RG's maasi, Bapuji, Alpana ben, GK Kaka, all the elders were on the stage waiting for the bride and groom's entry eagerly. 

Gaurav Khanna, the Groom arrived in his dashing avatar. Everyone smiled widely looking at him walking towards the mandap. Vinod Papa and Sashi maa held hands and looked into each other's eyes conveying all the happiness for their son. 

Gaurav reached the mandap and stood infront of his parents, smiling. Sashi maa cupped his cheek with tear filled eyes and the trio had a warm hug. He then touched Rajni mummy's feet and she blessed and hugged him as well. 

Gaurav stood in the mandap, vijay ganguly next to him, all eagerly awaiting the bride's entry, especially Gaurav was not able to wait any longer to see his rupali as his bride. Excitement was visible in his eyes and demeanour. 

Rupali Ganguly made her entry with her bridesmaids by her side, Priya di, Aneri, Jaswir, Muskan and Ketki, holding a garland veil over her while she walked down the aisle. 

Everyone gasped. Rupali looked ethereal in her traditional Red coloured Bridal lehenga. She looked up and met gaurav's eyes. His breath hitched and he forgot the world around him for a moment. Time ceased and it was only him and her at that moment. She smiled happily at him, unable to control her happiness and excitement. He flashed his beautiful smile for her with softened eyes.
