In the morning, I was sitting in the garden on the swing and looking around at different kinds of flowers there.
Hearing some footsteps approaching I looked in the direction. Meera was coming towards me with a wide cheerful smile.
"You are happy? let me guess. Going to meet your, brother? I asked.
"Nooo" she stretched the answer.
"Did Bhai increase your pay?" I asked teasingly.
"Oh ho Mahi I am happy because I have good news for you"
"And what is that?" I asked raising my left eyebrow.
"You are going out on a dinner with your brothers " she chimed showing her white teeth"
"I don't believe you" My brother doesn't like to eat with me at home, so why would they be taking me outside to eat dinner?
I again focus on the flowers in the garden.
"Mahi I am not making things by myself, Shaurya sir told me not to prepare dinner for the family because they are going out. Today is Aarav Sir's birthday" I instantly snapped my head in her direction, encouraging her to continue.
"Normally they throw a party on birthdays but because of your father's de-death they thought to keep it simple," She completed in hesitation.
"What kind of sister i am, i don't know my brother's birthday," I said slapping my forehead.
"I need to gift him something Meera, what will i give him," i asked tensed, moving back and forth in the garden.
"First you need to relax Mahi, you have till evening, i know you will come up with something."
"Are you sure they were talking about me as well?" i asked her hopefully.
"He said that the family is going for dinner, and not that we brothers are going for dinner. Do you understand the difference?" She knocks on my forehead.
I grin at the thought of being part of my brother's birthday, but first, i need to think about the gift. An idea pop up in my mind.
"Meera i am going to my room i have a lot of things to do, bye." I ran towards my room and heard a chuckle from Meera. "All the best" she shouted.
I continue to work for eight hours to complete my gift, i just hope the paint dries till night. Meera came with my lunch but i didn't allow her to enter because i couldn't afford to distract myself. I just hope he likes it too.
Not having the energy to move an inch I lay down on the sofa. I still have doubts if they want me to join them or not.
I drifted into sleep and woke up when it was already 7:30.
"I slept for 3 hours, I need to get ready" I ran upstairs towards my closet.
There are so many pretty dresses, that it is difficult to choose one.
