It's evening time, and i am sitting on the balcony attached to my room, looking at the sky and admiring the moon and stars. Meera served me lunch in the room after the funeral ceremony was completed. She said everyone went to their respective work after that.

I heard a knock on the door. I walked inside and opened the door. Meera stood there with a food tray in her hand. Opening the door wide i for gestured her to come inside. She placed the tray on the coffee table near the sofa.

"Where is everyone, has they returned from work?"

"Yes Ma'am"

"And dinner, did they eat?"

"They are eating together in the dining hall and Atharyu sir asked me to serve you here", saying this she left.

What were you expecting Mahi that they will accept you with open hearts. When you were living at Maami's house, you had your meals alone. But still, i was expecting a change. After eating a small amount, i gave the plate to the house help saying i was done.

I was sleeping soundly until a loud knock on the door made me wake up abruptly. I rubbed my eyes to look at the clock and it was already 7:25 in the morning.

How can I sleep for so long? I jumped out of my bed to see who was at the door.

"Good Morning Ma'am, I have bought your breakfast, and Atharyu sir has asked for your presence in his study room at 8:15. So please be ready. Meera said.

"Good Morning, yes I will be ready till then, thank you". She placed the breakfast she took her leave.

I have only 50 mins, 'it's because of you soft mattress that I slept till late' I said pointing to the bed. I ran Inside the bathroom and got ready.

And now Meera is taking me to my eldest brother's office. "From here you can go"

I wanted her to come with me but I guess I have to go alone to the lion's den. I knocked on the door, hearing a come-in, I twisted the door knob and entered inside.

My brother is sitting across the table on a chair engrossed in some papers.

"Sit down," he said without lifting his face.

I sat on the chair opposite to him, fidgeting my fingers in anticipation of what was coming for me.

Finally, he lifted his face, and our eyes clashed. I immediately look down.

"I think you have figured out by now that I am your guardian and you going to live in this house from now onwards." I lifted my head hearing his words. His face neutral not giving any emotion.

I nodded my head. "Answer me in words always, so that I know my words did not go wasted"

"Yes". He nodded in satisfaction and again looked down at the paper " You cannot go to your school" he said after reading something on the paper. A frown appeared on my face, why was he punishing me when I didn't do anything I was in my room until he called me.
