"You asked for me Bhai"

My eldest gestured for me to occupy the seat beside him.

I move apprehensively, taking a seat beside him and fidgeting my fingers because of all the gazes that are fixed on me.

'Don't they have anything else to do other than scare me off?'

Atharyu Bhai then looked at the three women present there. Putting on his professional smile he spoke, "It was a long day, why don't you three take a rest in the rooms allocated for you? We have a family matter to discuss".

"You mean to say we are not part of the family? I am your aunt, she is a family friend and mother..."

"Ran, take them to the guest rooms" Atharyu Bhai cut her in the middle.

My father's sister tries to protest but who can go against our eldest?

Now, my brothers focus solely fixes on me, "What did i warn you Maheer, not to play with my reputation,"

I nodded, muttering a small yes.

"And you still have the audacity to go against my words?"

"What did i do?" Confused, i questioned him back. Veer Bhai was back in the living room.

"Was today," he paused and glanced at his watch and continued, "Yesterday your Birthday?" He asks stoically.

My eyes widened in surprise, "How did he get to know?" I questioned myself.

"If you will go around taking gifts from people in the middle of the party, do you think nobody will notice?" Kabeer Bhai hisses.

Then i understood, i was so lost in my moment with Varun Bhai that i didn't care about my surroundings. But what can i do? I got carried away by my emotions.

"Who was that person to you?" Veer Bhai asked narrowing his eyes at me.

"He..."

"Must be the guy you are screwing" Kabeer Bhai stating obviously.

"He is my cousin, Varun Mittal." I immediately interfered not wanting them to talk ill about him.

"You aunt's son" Aarav confirmed, i nodded.

Atharyu Bhai connected the dots, "Still it didn't justify your act. You know what could have happened if this went to the media, that your family didn't remember your birthday."

"It's good that we handled everything on time saying that your Birthday is tomorrow, not today. And that Mittal guy was wishing you in advance." Kabeer hissed.

"How can you change my birth date?" I asked heartbroken, how can they alter things according to their convenience.

"What else can we do to solve the little stunt that you pulled in public? Think of it as the little price you paid for your mistake." My eldest stated.
