Looking out of the car's window, i see how the sense of familiarity is fading as the vehicle moves forward. The slow sound of the engine is giving my anxious heart some sort of relief in this awkward silence.
If i were blind, i bet i would not be able to sense the presence of another human behind the wheel because his movements are almost robotic. As if he is in the fear of being damned to hell if his hand accidentally touches something which is not required at that moment.
This reminds me of how i ended up in this car with him.

"Atharyu Singh Rajput"
His voice clear and loud. The name echoes in the house as if meant to be heard by everyone. If only his name could send chills down the spine, what would have happened if he had been present?
"Please come inside" Mama's voice came from behind. "Is Mr Rajput also coming?" he asked glancing behind the man standing at the door.
"No" the man who introduced himself as Lakshay says curtly. But his gesture didn't diminish Mama Ji's enthusiasm.
"Oh, no problem please take a seat" this time Mami said.
"I was sure that one day yours and Varun's hard work would pay off. See Rajputs themselves want to work with us" she said and Mama Ji smiled.
Turning towards me "Why are you here, go and make coffee for us, don't you see we have an important guest here".
How foolish of you to think Mahi that your brother has sent him for you. I turned disheartened but his words stopped me. "I am here to take Ms Rajput with me".
"We are Mittal's, and i am Satish Mittal. We do not know who Ms Rajput is ".
"I think he is some sort of fraud" Mami ji whispered to Mama ji's ear, but to her bad luck everyone heard. Even i was also confused about why is he here and who is Ms Rajput.
Then the secretary started walking and stopped two feet away from me. "Mr Rajput has asked me to bring you, Maheer Singh Rajput with me"
I was shocked would be an understatement. Various emotions like confusion, excitement, fear and happiness simultaneously evoking in my heart. I opened and closed my mouth to speak, but nothing was coming out.

Till now i have only lived with my name with no surname. But now Maheer Singh Rajput sounds so good. I feel a sense of belonging, which i never felt in these fifteen years.
