Aminah's POV:"Let go of me!"
Devyn's voice cut through the pounding in my ears, raw and full of fury. I barely had time to process what was happening before I saw her fist connect with Alex's jaw, sending a ripple of shock through the crowd. Blood splattered on the floor.
They were a blur—Devyn's body lunging forward, fists flying, while Alex tried to shove her back, her face twisted in rage. People around us were gasping, stepping back, but no one moved to stop them.
"Devyn, stop!" I shouted, my voice breaking as I pushed through the onlookers. My heart was in my throat. This wasn't happening.
But it was.
The sound of skin hitting skin echoed in the hallway, the thud of Alex's back hitting the wall as Devyn swung again. She wasn't pulling her punches, and I could see the wildness in her eyes.
"You think you can just play with people?!" Devyn screamed, her voice thick with anger and something else—something deeper. She shoved Alex back again, her fist pulled back, ready to strike.
"Devyn, don't!" I rushed forward, grabbing her arm before she could swing again, yanking her back with more force than I thought I had. "Stop it! Just stop!"
Devyn jerked her arm free, her chest heaving with every breath. Her eyes were wild, fists still clenched, knuckles bruised and bleeding. Alex was panting too, leaning against the wall, her lip split, blood dripping down her chin. I crave nothing more than to watch them all fall apart, but not like this.
Not because of petty bullshit, but for the reaping of their own bad seeds that they'd sewn.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Alex spat, wiping the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand. Her eyes darted to me for a second—just a flash—but then they were back on Devyn, burning with anger.
Devyn's body was still shaking, her fists trembling at her sides, and I could feel the tension between them, thick and dangerous. Alex wasn't backing down, and Devyn sure as hell wasn't going to either.
"Enough!" I stepped between them, pushing against Devyn's chest, forcing her to take a step back. "What the hell is going on?"
Devyn's eyes flicked to mine, still burning with fury, but beneath the anger was something else—something darker. She was shaking, her chest rising and falling rapidly, but she didn't say a word.
Alex wiped the blood from her lip again, her gaze hard and unforgiving as she stared at Devyn. "You're fucking crazy, you know that?"
"Alex, not now," I snapped, glaring at her. The last thing we needed was for her to provoke Devyn even more. I could feel the storm brewing between them, and I was barely holding it together.
