"The amethyst tablet!" I gasped. "H-How did you-?"
"I guess you could call it beginners' luck," The woman shrugged. "My henchmen stumbled across it while trying to find you. Now, just hand over the other five tablets, and yourselves, nice and easy now."
"Give me one good reason why we should," I taunted.
"Oh, I've got three," The woman smirked. "Bring me the prisoners."
My eyes widened in shock as one of the henchmen turned and headed back inside the helicopter, returning with three familiar faces in tow.
"Dad?!" Indy gasped as he saw one of them.
"Son?" Henry gasped as well. "So, is this where you've been this whole time?"
"We've actually been all over the place trying to find these things," I told him.
"Have you now?" Henry pressed, though I wasn't quite sure he wanted to hear the whole story.
"Indy-!" Another person gasped.
"Jock!" I exclaimed. "So, this is what happened to you?"
Jock's expression was grim, and the wicked grin on the woman's face said it all.
A smaller figure waved silently to me, his eyes wide with fear.
"Short Round?!" I shrieked. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry you got dragged into this!"
"Now, hand over the rest of the tablets, nice and easy, or they get it!" The woman drew a pocket knife to show she wasn't kidding around.
"Trust me," I whispered to Indy. "I've got a plan."
I turned away from him and towards the woman, and out loud, announced.
"Okay, here you go," I stepped towards her, taking Indy and the rest of the tablets along with me.
"Smart choice," She smiled, taking the tablets, Ind,y and me up into the helicopter in one fell swoop with the help of her henchmen.
The tablets were taken away from me, and we were shoved in the back along with Jock, Short Round, and Henry.
"This was your plan?!" Indy hissed.
"Give me time, professor," I responded.
I carefully, quietly, and discreetly, as not to be noticed by the two henchmen guarding us, took the necklace I'd been wearing this whole time, out from underneath my shirt. On it, for safekeeping, was the final key needed to open the way to the treasure, the moonstone key. I held it in the palm of my hand and made a carbon copy of it with ice, hiding the original back under my shirt and pocketing the duplicate.
"Are you okay?" I took this time as we soared through the skies to our final destination to check in on Jock and the others.
"We're fine," Jock spoke up. "They didn't do anything to hurt us, and they did barely enough to keep us alive, but I could be worse."
Short Round nodded feverishly.
"I just got here, so I'm alright," Henry assured me. "Now, since we're going to be here for a while, why not fill me in on what this little adventure was all about, so I at least know what I was kidnapped for."
Indy and I exchanged glances, silently wondering where to begin, and who should start. I eventually took a deep breath and explained everything from the beginning, how I met Indy, why I was in his class, to how I discovered the legend and encouraged Indy to come with me. Indy told everyone how he'd heard of other people applying for the same teaching position he currently occupied, and we all agreed it was insane that she went this far for revenge. There were so many teaching jobs out there, why was this one so important to her.
