Chapter 1 The new CEO of Mira

"And, I am pleased to announce that the CEO of Miraé group's first company - Mira is Tessa Lyle" said chairperson Theodore. There was a deafening applause. Every attendee in the hall had a smile on their face as they clapped. Well almost everyone, Azriel was the only one who sat with his arms crossed not showing the slightest expression of joy.

Tessa was a nineteen year old girl, who was the youngest daughter of Theodore. However that was not the reason why she was made the CEO. Tessa had always been extremely hard working and intelligent since younger days. No wonder she was the youngest of all CEOs in the Miraé a group.

I suppose you would have already guessed Azriel to be an envious colleague. Well, he wasn't. He was heartless towards everyone, except for those he loved and cared for. So, who was he - the CEO of Stella, another company of Miraé group.

It was easy for him to surpass other companies of Miraé group. But Mira - Mira was difficult to surpass. He had been trying since years and years, and now under Tessa it would probably be worse.

"If I beat Mira, then Stella would become the best company of Miraé group. And I, I would become the greatest CEO of all times." Azriel thought to himself.

"I am pleased to know that Miraé group finds me worthy of this position." Tessa started her speech as she got on the stage. " I am excited to lead Mira into the future building on our strengths while embracing innovation and collaboration." She went on and on. "Together we'll face challenges head-on, adapt and grow. I believe in this team, and I'm confident that we'll achieve the greatest heights. Thank you."

Another deafening applause.

The happy occasion was followed by a dinner party for all employees of the Miraé group.

"So, did you think about it?" asked Leo, the newly appointed manager and one of Tessa's closest friends as they gathered around the table for lunch.

"I'm telling you this for the hundredth time. I don't want to have a boyfriend or get married!" Tessa exclaimed.

"You will have to, maybe later, but you will have to!" he shouted.

Everyone in the hall stared at them.

"I am sorry I didn't mean to be so loud.", he lowered his voice.

"Can we not talk about this for God's sake?" She murmured. "You know that I'm married to my work. There's nothing else that I want to focus on!"

Tessa walked away from there.

"Excuse me", said Leo as he rushed out behind her.

"Where are you going?", he asked.

"Home."

"Alone?"

Tessa turned around, "Yes.", she replied.

"Should I drop you home?", he asked.

"No, it's ok. Thanks for asking.", she replied as she got in her car.

Tessa drove away leaving Leo waving her goodbye he took out his phone from his coat's pocket and dialed a number.

"Hello." Someone picked the call up.
"I give up, can you help me?", asked Leo.
"I knew you would call me up, sure!", the reciever replied.
