**Damian's POV **

Damian stood in the center of the room, his body trembling as he finally allowed himself to feel the weight of his grief. His mother's arms around him were a lifeline, grounding him in a moment he had avoided for years. The memories of Lyra, of the life they had planned together, overwhelmed him. But now, standing here, he knew it was time to face them.

"We need to go to her room," Liana whispered, stroking her son's hair gently. "It's time, Damian."

Damian's heart clenched. He had avoided that room for so long-had locked it away, much like he had locked away his grief. The thought of stepping into the space he had shared with Lyra felt like reopening a wound that had never fully healed.

Beside him, Ethan and Vivienne exchanged a look, their own grief for their sister clear in their eyes. Vivienne placed a hand on Damian's shoulder. "We're with you, Damian. You don't have to do this alone."

He nodded, though his throat was too tight to speak. Slowly, Damian stood, pulling away from his mother's embrace. His legs felt heavy as he walked toward the hallway, with his parents, Ethan, and Vivienne following behind him in silence.

When they reached the door to the room-the room that had once belonged to him and Lyra-Damian stopped, his hand hovering over the doorknob. His breath hitched, and for a moment, he wasn't sure he could do it.

"You're not alone, son," his father's deep voice said from behind him.

Damian swallowed hard and finally turned the knob, pushing the door open. The room was exactly as he had left it. The soft, cream-colored walls, the bed they had shared, the sunlight filtering in through the curtains-it all felt frozen in time. A heavy silence filled the air, thick with memories.

As Damian stepped inside, the familiar scent of lavender washed over him, a fragrance Lyra had always loved. He closed his eyes, and suddenly, a vision of her filled the room-a memory so vivid it made his heart ache.

---

*In the vision, Lyra was sitting on the edge of the bed, her back against the headboard, her long dark hair cascading down her shoulders. She was humming softly, a gentle, soothing melody that had always calmed Damian after long days of dealing with pack matters. Her eyes were closed, her lips curved into a small smile as she swayed to the tune.*

Damian entered the room in the vision, his heart swelling with love at the sight of her. He quietly crossed the room and sat on the bed beside her, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close.

Lyra opened her eyes, her smile widening as she rested her head against his chest. "You're home," she whispered, her voice like a soft breeze.

"I am," Damian replied, his voice filled with affection as he kissed the top of her head. "And you're humming again."

She chuckled softly. "It helps me think. It always makes me feel close to you, even when you're not here."

Damian closed his eyes, the memory of her warmth almost tangible. In the vision, he pulled her closer, letting her song wash over him, a simple melody that spoke of love and peace. For a moment, everything was perfect-just them, wrapped in the love they shared.

---

The vision shifted, and suddenly Lyra was standing beside the bed, her hand resting on her stomach, a soft glow of excitement in her eyes. Damian rushed into the room, his heart pounding, fear gripping him as he had heard that she had collapsed earlier. But when he saw her standing there, smiling at him, he froze.

"Lyra..." His voice was filled with concern. "What happened? I heard you fainted."

Lyra nodded, biting her lip to keep from laughing as she placed her hand over her belly. "I did... but I'm okay, Damian. I'm more than okay."
