**Kian's POV**

The moment it happened, Kian felt it like a shockwave rippling through his body, a surge of energy that knocked the air from his lungs. He staggered, his hand instinctively gripping the edge of the table in front of him. His allies-Valen, Liora, and Thorne-immediately noticed the shift, their eyes darting toward him in confusion.

"Kian?" Liora's voice was sharp with concern as she stepped closer, her eyes narrowing. "What's going on?"

Kian's heart raced, his pulse thrumming in his ears. He didn't know how to explain it, didn't fully understand it himself. But he felt it-the connection, the bond he had with Isla. The one that had always existed between them, buried deep under years of separation and darkness. But now, it was alive, thrumming with power.

Isla had unlocked her power.

And Kian felt it coursing through him too.

His breath hitched as the surge of energy continued to pulse through his veins. It was wild, untamed, and terrifyingly powerful. He clenched his fists, trying to control the sensation, but it was overwhelming, like trying to hold back a tidal wave.

"She's awakened," Kian whispered, his voice barely audible.

"Who?" Valen asked, his brow furrowed as he approached, his gaze sharp and calculating. "Who's awakened?"

Kian's jaw clenched, his mind racing. He could feel her-the strength of her power, the connection that tied them together as twins. Isla had unlocked something within herself, and it was affecting him too. It was like a part of him that had been dormant all these years had suddenly come to life.

"My sister," Kian finally said, his voice tight. "Isla. She's unlocked her power."

Valen's eyes widened slightly, but he quickly masked his surprise. "What does that mean for us?"

Kian straightened, forcing himself to stand tall despite the torrent of emotions and power raging within him. He couldn't let them see the chaos inside him, couldn't show any weakness. Not now.

"It means we need to move," Kian said, his voice cold and commanding. "Isla is more dangerous now. She's going to come for us. For all of us. We need to strike first."

Liora and Thorne exchanged a glance, but they both nodded, their loyalty to Kian unwavering. They didn't question him. They never did. They had all been rescued by Malachi, given a second chance when the world had cast them aside. Kian was their leader, and they would follow him, no matter what.

But deep inside, Kian felt the pull of something else-something he hadn't felt in years. Doubt.

**The Captives' POV**

Astrid sat in the cold, dimly lit room, her wrists bruised from the iron chains that bound her to the wall. The others-Alphas and Lunas taken from their packs-were scattered around her, each one weakened but still defiant. They had been here for what felt like days, but none of them had given up hope.

Yet, the uncertainty gnawed at them. They had no idea what Malachi and his forces had planned for them, only that they were being used as pawns in a larger, darker game.

The door to the room creaked open, and a figure stepped inside-**Valen**, Kian's strategist and right hand. His eyes gleamed with an unsettling calm as he approached the captives, his steps slow and deliberate.

Astrid's eyes narrowed as she watched him, her mind racing with possibilities. She had seen Valen in battle before, had heard whispers of his cunning mind and cold precision. He wasn't like the other outcasts. There was something more calculated, more controlled about him.
