i finished my morning routine and walked downstairs. jackie was sitting at the island look all fine and stuff.
"morning love" she said.
"morning mama" i said sitting down beside her. i laid my head on her shoulder.
"you always leave me" i mumbled.
"im sorry love" she said rubbing my temples.
"you want breakfast baby ?" she asked.
"im okay" i mumbled.
"so how's the off szn been for you ?" i asked.
"okay ig i just miss basketball like im bored without it" she said making me nod.
"so you really not gonna go back to europe ?" she asked me.
"probably not. i love it but my separation anxiety cannot handle going back. idk what's the difference about playing in american than in europe when my family is in paris but it just ain't cutting it" i expressed.
"i understand mama. wtv you feel is best for you and your health you gotta do that imma support you no matter what" jackie said making me smile.
"thank you love" i smiled.
"but other than that i love playing in europe. the people are super friendly and welcoming my teammates were the best i just think i couldn't handle being so far away from you" i said making her look at me.
"gabby don't do that. i do not wanna hold you back & yk ion wanna be away from you either but this is good for you" she said.
"your not holding me back i mean it's my choice" i said.
"okay but you don't wanna go back cus you don't wanna be away from me ?? i understand baby but that don't mean quit. your blocking your opportunities my love" she said holding my hands.
"ik but i be feeling so alone" i mumbled.
"okay not tryna be pushy but.. how about you go back for at least 2 weeks & try enjoy this moment. if your anxiety is still bad you can come home and i'll leave you alone."
"please just try mama ? this is everything you have worked so hard for.. don't let it go to waist. don't let your feelings hold you back baby" she said.
"okay deal" i said smiling. i hugged her tightly. she really does understand me and im grateful to have someone who listens to me.
"thank you for listening and letting me vent" i said to her.
"ofc i will always be here my love" her soothing voice said.
