The view outside was stunning to say the least, absolutely gorgeous.

Y/N was almost sure she wasn't in Japan anymore; sometimes, she could forget just how beautiful nature could be, as she didn't spend much time outdoors.

Even now, she wasn't outside—she simply allowed her gaze to linger out upon the window of the train. The sky seemed to cascade down, almost meeting the ground, which felt both far away and yet so close.

Of course, it was still hard to appreciate it with such a terrible headache. Hangovers could be absolute jackasses.

"How long do we have before we arrive in Kyoto?" Makima asked the bodyguard as he sat down next to her. Y/N sat across from Makima on the train, next to a seven-year-old girl, trying to get comfortable while still on the clock.

Y/N could barely pay attention, though, as her head throbbed; it hurt to even open her eyes.

"One hour," he replied plainly, handing Y/N a cup of water.

That seemed random.

She couldn't remember if she had even asked for it—maybe Makima had—but either way, she was grateful. She gave him a small nod to silently say thanks.

"I'll eat at the station then."

"Don't forget you have a one o'clock lunch in."

"I'll just have to make sure I leave a little room then won't I?"

After a moment of quiet—the train slightly swayed from the speed of its body against the tracks, Y/N decided to speak. "Miss Makima... Why are we coming to visit this Yakuza group anyway?"

"We need their assistance to shorten the flow of gun devil chunks, they've recently been popping up too frequently for my liking." Makima sighed, but not without giving Y/N a soft smile.

"... I can't think of anything worse than meeting up with the Kyoto Big Wigs, they're so intimidating. Refreshments are hardly refreshing when you can't relax." She quietly added as she stared out of the window.

"... You can't really enjoy food or drinks when you're dealing with gangs." Y/N replied, her thumb tapping against her bottom lip in thought.

"But last night's drinks... Those were great."

Y/N smiled towards Makima, gaining one in return from her comment. To be honest, Y/N thought that it sucked, at least for her throbbing head.

But it was fun to see how everyone got together. It had been such a long time since she had last seen people interact in such a casual setting.

She found her eyes traveling down to the girl seated next to her, watching as her small fingers used a small pencil box filled with crayons. She seemed to just be idly shading different colors in her pocket-sized coloring book, probably bored out of her mind from the train trip.

Y/N never liked the yakuza, to be honest, she never even found an interest in talking about them. But one thing she enjoyed was children, she liked them and the things that they chose to occupy themselves with.

"What're you drawing?"

The girl turned her head upward at Y/N, her greyish blue eyes reaching the unfamiliar face and immediately lighting up when she understood the question.

"I'm coloring these house plants!" She excitedly yells, holding up her book for Y/N to take a look at.

Then they heard a small 'shush', to which both the girl and Y/N looked up and saw an older woman that was sat on the opposite side of them. The girl immediately nodded with a smile so Y/N supposed that it must have been her mother.
