chapter 14: Confronting greed, part 1

Icy glared at Stormy and Electra, her cold blue eyes filled with disdain. "You two? Friends? How disgusting," she spat. "You're supposed to be enemies! Sworn enemies!"

Electra stood her ground, her voice steady and calm. "Some people are capable of growth, Icy. They can admit when they've made mistakes, learn from them, and change for the better." She raised her hand, summoning a shimmering beam of energy. "Point of Energy City! Ha!"

A streak of pale turquoise light shot forward, hitting Icy with full force and sending her tumbling off her fairy animal.

"Nice shot, Electra!" Stormy cheered, a wide grin spreading across her face. "I think your plan might be just the evidence the judge needs."

Icy picked herself up from the ground, her expression twisted with fury. "You think a little speech and some fancy light tricks will stop me?" She extended her arms, gathering her dark icy powers. "Icicle Rampage!"

A storm of razor-sharp icicles hurled toward Electra and Stormy.

"Rippling Energy!" Electra shouted, forming a turquoise shield with ripple-like patterns that absorbed the impact. The icicles shattered harmlessly against the protective barrier.

"We can't keep defending forever," Stormy whispered. "What's the next move?"

Electra glanced over, her eyes glinting with determination. "I've got a plan," she said under her breath. "We need to find the judge. I'll create a distraction to buy us some time."

Stormy gave an approving nod. "Good strategy! I'll follow your lead."

Electra smirked and lifted her hands. "Holographic Energy!" she called, and in an instant, projections of herself and Stormy appeared on the battlefield. The turquoise holograms moved swiftly, drawing Icy's attention.

Icy snarled in frustration, launching another flurry of attacks at the duplicates, but her ice blasts passed right through the illusions. "What?!" she hissed, realizing too late that she had been tricked.

Taking advantage of the moment, Electra hopped onto Sunia's back, her loyal shimmer-dragon. Stormy quickly followed suit, climbing onto her own fairy animal, Occula.

"Come on, guys!" Electra shouted, urging them forward. "Let's go!"

With Icy still distracted by the holograms, Electra and Stormy soared into the sky, speeding off toward the judge, ready to execute the next phase of their plan.

As they flew through the cool, crisp air, Electra's thoughts raced. This battle wasn't just about proving her strength—it was about showing Icy and everyone else that true power came from growth, vulnerability, and the willingness to change.

And she was ready to win this fight, not just for herself, but for the future she was determined to build.
