You Said to Me

"I don't know you"
you said to me coldly when I approached you as a stranger
I wanted to say  'Good day' and I didn't mean to trigger your anger
I can see the 'do not disturb' sign on the look of your face
I wonder what happened to you that marked your grimace

"I hate you"
you said to me in which I find it unreasonable
I ask to myself, 'is my existence that abominable?'
I'm already smashed into smithereens
might be better than engaging in compelled grins

"I want you"
you said to me after you've known me for years
part of myself cheers but what comes out is tears
pushing me away from you are my worries and fears
I can't deny these words you speak are soothing to the ears

"I need you"
you said to me like calling for help desperately
never did I ever thought I need to be needed badly
you're there for me in my pretty and in my ugly
I need you too and I'm eager to support you fully.

"I love you"
you said to me and I hope you mean it
words meant nothing without its meaning
a confession so sweet mushy and warm
for some reason I feel safe in your arms.
