Namjoon's POV

I stood in the dimly lit room, the low hum of the mansion settling into silence, leaned against the wall, arms crossed, my mind racing.

"I should plan something... something to make Nari stay away from Jungkook," I thought, my jaw tightening. But then, my eyes narrowed slightly.

How can I?

I've seen the way Jungkook looks at her, the way my brother's hard edges soften in her presence.

He loves her.

I scoffed under my breath. "And love... love makes people weak."

I turned to the window, the moonlight casting shadows across my face. "It's a dangerous thing. She's his weakness, and that makes him vulnerable." Vulnerable wasn't something the family could afford. Not with the world they lived in, not with the enemies they faced.

But even as I thought it, I knew the truth. "Jungkook won't let her go. He's too far gone. And that's exactly why I have to figure out a way."

My fingers twitched at my sides, the urge to act bubbling under my composed surface. "Because if he stays like this... distracted by her, I won't be able to protect him. Not from what's coming."

I clenched my fists, the frustration bubbling up. "Love weakens. And I won't let it take him down."

Jungkook had always been at the center of my world. The reckless, impulsive younger brother who had taken the family empire and turned it into something more dangerous than they could have ever imagined. And Nari-she had become his greatest weakness.

I could see it clearly, even if Jungkook couldn't. The way he softened around her, the way his guard dropped whenever she was near.

Love.

Jungkook's eyes lit up when he looked at her, his demeanor soft, unlike the ruthless mafia boss he had always been. She was changing him.

That was a problem.

It was powerful, but it made people blind. Jungkook wasn't the same cold, ruthless man when Nari was in the picture. He was distracted, vulnerable.

And I couldn't let that continue.

"I have to protect him from that vulnerability. From her. But who knows? Maybe this will all work out. Maybe she's stronger than I give her credit for."

I let out a slow breath, trying to ease the tension building inside me. "But I can't take that chance."

Jungkook was my family-his responsibility. I had already made sacrifices for him, and I was willing to make more. Even if it meant playing both sides, even if it meant manipulating Nari into thinking I was her ally.

"She has no idea who I really am," I mused, a faint smile tugging at the corner of my lips. "She thinks I'm just the calm older brother, the one who's looking out for her."

Author's Pov

Namjoon stood in the dim hallway of the mansion, his expression blank as he watched Nari pass by, her steps steady and confident, but her gaze sharp, always searching.

She wasn't a helpless girl, trapped in a world beyond her control.

No, she was smarter than that, and he knew it.

But so was he.

She loved Jungkook-that much was clear. He could see it in the way her eyes softened when she looked at him, the way she leaned into his touch, willingly accepting the chaos and danger Jungkook brought into her life.
