The sun streamed through the large kitchen windows, casting a warm glow over the sleek countertops. Nari stood at the stove, expertly stirring a pot of simmering sauce. The smell of garlic and herbs filled the air, and for a moment, it felt like everything was perfect.
But it wasn't just the delicious aroma that filled the kitchen-it was Jungkook, who was doing his best to turn the simple act of cooking into a full-blown romantic affair.
He stood behind Nari, his chest pressed against her back, arms wrapped around her waist like he was afraid she might float away.
"Are you going to cook all day, or are we going to have some fun?" he murmured, nuzzling her neck.
Nari giggled, shaking her head. "Jungkook, if you keep this up, I'll burn the sauce. Focus on the food, please!"
"Food?" he pouted dramatically. "I thought you were making dinner for two, but I see I'm just a side dish here."
Namjoon, sitting at the dining table with a book, couldn't help but roll his eyes at his brother's antics. "You know, there are maids for this," he chimed in, trying to stifle a grin. "You could just let Nari cook in peace."
"But where's the fun in that?" Jungkook replied, tightening his hold on Nari. "I'm helping! Besides, who wouldn't want to be this close to the woman they love while she cooks?"
"Helping? Or hindering?" Nari teased, glancing over her shoulder with a playful smirk. "If you're not careful, you might end up in the sauce, too."
"Maybe I want to be in the sauce," he said, giving her a possessive squeeze. "Or better yet, let's get saucy together!"
Namjoon chuckled at the banter, shaking his head in disbelief. "You're impossible, you know that? This is a cooking session, not a romantic comedy."
"Why not both?" Jungkook retorted, his voice dripping with playful sarcasm. "Life's too short for just cooking. You should try it sometime, hyung."
"Sure, when I find a girlfriend who'll put up with my cooking skills-or lack thereof," Namjoon shot back, smirking.
"Or you could just stick to takeout," Nari suggested, stirring the pot with a flourish. "It's less messy than having you cook."
Jungkook let out a mock gasp, clutching his chest. "You wound me! I am an excellent cook... when I'm not too busy being a clingy boyfriend."
Nari couldn't help but laugh, and even Namjoon felt his heart swell at the sight of them.
This was the happiness he wanted for Jungkook, a life filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos.
"Okay, Chef Jungkook," Nari said, raising an eyebrow as she turned to face him. "How about you go chop those vegetables while I finish this up?"
"Chop?" Jungkook echoed, feigning horror. "You mean actual work? I thought I was just here for moral support!"
"Maybe you should've thought about that before getting all possessive," she teased, pushing him playfully away.
"Fine! But only if you promise to reward me with kisses when I'm done," he bargained, sticking his lower lip out in a mock pout.
"Deal," Nari said, laughing. "But don't take too long! You know I'm a busy woman."
As Jungkook finally released her and sauntered over to the counter to chop vegetables, Nari couldn't help but smile. It was moments like these-filled with playful banter and lighthearted teasing-that made life feel more vibrant.
She glanced at Namjoon, who was still shaking his head in amusement.
"Who would've thought that the mighty Jungkook could be reduced to a clingy puppy in the kitchen?" Namjoon quipped, his tone playful.
