I propped myself in the corner of the room after I looked around. There wasn't much to the cabin. In fact, it was more like a shed. It had four walls, a bed, a small table with one chair, and nothing else. There weren't even any windows. I think the only reason the Alpha's scent was in the room was because of the pile of clothes in the corner. I doubted he spent any real time there because of how small the space was. I didn't even try the door because I was sure that it was locked. There was no way they were going to give me a way to get out. Not until I submitted and was claimed by their Alpha. I didn't sit on the bed because I didn't want to give him the idea that I was okay with anything that was going on. So, the corner on the floor it was. I'm sure I looked like a scared little she-wolf, but I wasn't. I knew that he wouldn't touch me until I went into heat or my wolf had chosen him, so for the meantime I was safe and had nothing to fear.

The door opened and the heavy footsteps of Alpha Dominck thudded on the floor as he stepped inside. He looked around until his eyes landed on me. He didn't have to look long because as I said the shed was small.

"Why are you on the floor, Mate?" he asked as he closed the door to the tiny box.

I rolled my eyes at him calling me his mate. "For the last time, I am not your mate."

He sat down on the bed with a heavy sigh. "Would it be that terrible to be my mate?"

I was caught off guard with how softly he asked the question that it took me a few minutes before I could answer him. "I don't know you."

"That's why you're here. So we can get to kow each other. As I said, I would have come to see you sooner, but I was very busy."

"That's not just it."

"Well, what else is the problem?"

"You're not giving me a choice."

"The way your Alpha Kai gave you a choice?" he asked, his brows raised. My mouth snapped shut. "I know all about your packs claiming ritual. It's not a secret that the she-wolves have no say in who they are claimed by. How is that any different from me going after what I want?"

I looked away from him because there was nothing that I could say to that. He was right. I hated the claiming balls because the decision fell to the male wolves. She-wolves didn't get a say. I didn't get a say when Kai sunk his teeth in me and I had been devastated when he did.

"It's been a long day. If you prefer to sleep on the floor, I won't force you, but the bed is big enough for the both of us and despite the way it looks, it's comfortable."

He kicked off his shoes after that and removed his shirt and pants leaving him in just his boxers and climbed into the bed. I felt the first stirrings of Imara at the sight of Alpha Dominck's body and squeezed my eyes shut. Stupid horny wolf. I curled into a ball on the floor and faced the wall. I could sense his wolf already trying to pull Imara from her slumber and I hated it. I hated everything that was going on. I hated that Dominck felt he had a claim on me. I hated that he was right about me not having a say in Kai claiming me. I hated that I was made to end some stupid curse. When I really sat and thought about it, if I had a choice would I really want to be with Kai? Or was it simply because our wolves had bonded?

I struggled to sleep, so when someone knocked on the door of the shed, it didn't disturb me. I didn't know if I was allowed to answer the door, so I remained on my spot on the floor. Kai groaned behind me and I heard him climb out of the bed and walk over to the door. No words were exchanged and then the door was shut.

"Chandra?" Dominck called my name in a soft voice.

I rolled over to look at him instead of pretending to be asleep. He motiioned over to the table and the food that sat on top of it.
