Kai's POV

I walked into my office in the main packhouse to find Troy and Alec already waiting for me. Troy had a shit-eating grin on his face and I knew that he wasted no time in sleeping with his mate. He lounged in one of the chairs in front of my desk and Alec sat in the one beside him, his eyes glued to a file in his hands.

I dropped the files I had brought my my suite office onto the desk and then sat down in my chair.

"Valerie get the girls to school okay?"

Alec looked up from the file. "Yeah. I sent a warrior to be stationed at the school just in case. He has instructions not to follow them around. I didn't want to upset the Luna."

I had to fight my own shit-eating grin at the sound of Alec calling Chandra Luna. I had known she would be Luna from the moment I sank my teeth into her neck. Unfortunately for her, she didn't get much say in the matter. I had had time to come to terms with the idea that I now had a Luna, but for some reason hearing someone else call her by that title sent pleasure through me.

"Why would the Luna have a problem with a warrior protecting her?" Troy asked confused.

"You didn't see the way she reacted to me and Valerie following her," Alec said. "I don't want her to cuss the poor guy out. Although, if she were pissed Kai would be the one who has to deal with it."

"I'm not worried. After we officially mate and mark each other we can lay off the guard detail."

"I'm not so sure about that," Alec said.

I did not like the tone of his voice. He sounded worried about something.

"Why is that?"

"Aside from the one time, I tried to make sure that neither of you was bothered while you were bonding with your mates, but we had more than one rogue sighting. We even managed to catch one of them."

Alec now had both of our attention. Our pack generally didn't have a problem with rogues. Every now and again we would get a rogue or two that thought they could sneak onto packlands and cause problems, but we had a reputation as being the strongest pack in the area. Not many people messed with us. Having more than one rogue sighting in one week was concerning.

"How many?" Troy asked.

"Three and more than the usual one or two. The only reason we managed to catch one was because he crossed the border. The others lurked around the borders but then took off when we approached.

"Is he alive?" I asked.

Alec nodded. "And he will only speak to you."

I didn't need to hear anything else. I jumped up from my seat and made my way out of the office with Troy and Alec following behind. We arrived at the dungeon and the warrior guarding it nodded in greeting before handing me the keys. The three of us stepped inside and made our way to the cell holding the rogue. He was the only one in the dungeon. I stopped in front of his cell and my eyes widened as they landed on him. He was nothing but a child and he looked like it had been a while since he's eaten. Although I did see an empty tray sitting on the floor.

"Sorry Alpha, I had to feed him."

"It's okay." We would usually withhold food and water until we got the answers we needed, but I wasn't a complete monster. "Kid. What's your name?"

"Luke," he said in a small voice that made him sound even younger. He kept his head lowered in submission. Probably because try as I might, I couldn't control my Alpha aura.

"How old are you?"

"Nineteen."

His answer shocked me and I looked over at Alec and Troy to find them both wearing a shocked expression. If it wasn't for the fact that he had clearly shifted, I would have guessed he was early teens. Even still I wouldn't have guessed that he was older than sixteen.
