"Are you going to apply?" Chloe asked, her eyes bright with anticipation. "I don't know," I replied, hesitating. This question seemed to come up over and over again, so much so that it felt like she had asked me a billion times already. Today was just another day filled with the same uncertainty.
"You HAVE to try out! You would be absolutely amazing!" Chloe protested, her excitement palpable. I found myself staring at a vibrant post filled with smiling dogs and enthusiastic contestants, a picture that painted a dream I had held close for as long as I could remember. The idea of becoming a social media star, spreading joy through content that makes people smile, danced in my mind. As I read the post again, a flutter of hope sparked within me. Could this truly be my chance to turn my dreams into reality? But then doubt crept in—was I really brave enough to take this leap? Was I really as good as I imagined? I sighed, feeling the weight of uncertainty.
"What if I'm not good enough?" I whispered, my doubts echoing in the silence.
Chloe responded without missing a beat. "You are SO talented, Lilly! Just think about all those cute videos you've made! Can you seriously consider it? You could be in front of millions of people doing what you love! It would be incredible!"
"I just... I don't know," I murmured, my heart racing with anxiety. "What if I mess up? What if nobody likes me?"
"Are you kidding me? What if they LOVE you?" Chloe exclaimed, her enthusiasm unwavering. "Your personality is amazing! You won't know until you try! Remember, every social media star started out just like you—nervous but hopeful. You have to take that leap! Just think about how amazing it would feel to follow your dream!"
"I promise to be there every step of the way," Chloe coaxed, her voice reassuring.
"Promise?" I asked, seeking the comfort of her words.
"Promise!" she repeated, her confidence infectious.
"Okay, I will think about this, but it's not final," I said, feeling slightly more resolved.
"Yeeeeeees!" Chloe shouted, pumping her fist in the air and doing a little victory dance.
"It is not confirmed yet!" I called out, unable to suppress a smile at her excitement. She laughed, and soon I found myself laughing along with her, the tension easing just a bit.
Now lying on my bed, the question weighed heavily on my mind—should I apply, or should I hold back? I got up, needing to clear my head, and stepped outside for some fresh air. The night sky greeted me, filled with stars sparkling like diamonds, and the beauty of it all stirred something inside. I watched those stars twinkle, lost in thoughts about whether I truly had the skills to chase my dreams. Am I good enough? Can I show the world who I really am? Can I conquer my fears?
Chloe's encouraging words echoed in my mind, reminding me to believe in myself. She had said I could climb any mountain, no matter how big or challenging it seemed. Even if the path ahead was tough, it was not impossible. Could I really climb that mountain? Deep down, I already knew the answer—yes.
With newfound determination, I walked back to my bed, ready to embrace the possibilities that lay ahead. I closed my eyes, allowing myself to dream about what it would feel like to achieve my goals and make my hopes a reality.
Sorry if this chapter is short the next one will be longer.
