Chapter three

The following day, as the sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, casting warm rays across the room, Chloe sat beside me on the kitchen island, eagerly finishing her breakfast. A sense of excitement filled the air as she turned to me and asked, "So, are you actually going to apply?" There was a sparkle in her eyes that made her curiosity clear.

"Yes, I am," I answered, giving a small nod. Although I wanted to sound confident, inside I felt a swirl of nerves mixed with anticipation.

Chloe's reaction was immediate and enthusiastic. "That's wonderful!" she exclaimed, nearly jumping off her seat in joy. The sheer energy she radiated was infectious, and I felt a little lift in my own spirits. "What are we waiting for? Let's get moving!"

After we finished our breakfast, we quickly set about cleaning the kitchen. I took charge of the dishes, scrubbing the plates and glasses, while Chloe wiped down the counters with swift movements. Once the kitchen was tidy and spotless, we made our way to her bedroom. I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief as I flopped down onto her bed, sinking into the soft, inviting comfort of the blankets. Meanwhile, Chloe went to her desk, where she grabbed a notepad and a pen, her excitement still buzzing in the air.

"Okay, what's the plan?" Chloe asked, her pen hovering above the paper, ready to jot down any ideas that came to mind. She looked determined and focused, clearly ready to take charge of the situation.

"I don't know," I admitted, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the reality of what I was trying to do. The thought of applying was becoming more daunting, and I wasn't exactly sure where to start.

"Alright, what are the rules?" Chloe asked, her curiosity shining through in her voice as she leaned forward, eager to understand the details better.

Taking a deep breath, I pulled out my phone and located the social media post that outlined all the necessary details. Gripping the device tightly, I began to read the rules aloud to Chloe, making sure that both of us understood what was required.

"Rule number one: No copying videos and no faking of videos. This means you must create something that is completely your own, without borrowing content from anyone else. Rule number two: It has to be your own original video. Your entry must showcase your unique creativity and individuality. If you break any of these rules, there will be serious consequences, including the possibility of being disqualified from the competition known as Pup Star."

Chloe nodded thoughtfully, absorbing the information. "And Lilly, remind me—what types of videos are allowed?" she asked, seeking further clarification so she could help me brainstorm.

I replied, "You can make any type of video you want, like, fashion showcases, funny skits, cooking demonstrations, personal vlogs, music performances, tech reviews, and so much more." Knowing all of this was important, both for the application process and for unleashing our creativity, I could feel the excitement building between us.

"What are the rules?" she asked, her voice full of curiosity. It was clear she wanted to understand what was expected.

If you break these rules, there will be serious consequences, which could even lead to being disqualified from the Pup Star competition."

Chloe listened carefully and then asked, "And Lilly, can you remind me what kinds of videos we are allowed to make?" She was looking for more specifics, wanting to ensure she understood what was permitted.
