Kings Landing
Jaime was seated in a chair in his sisters chambers while the very elderly Maester finished tying on a golden hand to cover the stump of where his right hand had previously been. The golden lion had to admit in his head that he was thankful Haelesa didn't follow him or she could have been put in more danger than him and Brienne had faced.
"I'm relieved you have returned home to me." His sister spoke once the old man had left the two alone.
He leaned back in the chair. "Well it certainly wasn't an easy task getting back here. Lady Stark and the little Velaryon girl actually were the ones to free me."
"Why would that little girl free you but then didn't come with you. According to father you two are still married." She asked her twin brother.
Jaime tilted his head to the side. "She ended up keeping the young wolf's bed warm."
"I always knew she wasn't fit to be with you. We have and always will belong together. And soon she'll learn how much of a fool she was thinking that wolf boy could keep her from our claws." Cersei crossed the room climbing up on her brother's lap, leaning down to kiss him.
The golden lion raised his left hand to the side of her face. "What do you mean she'll soon figure out how we're coming for her?"
"Father and I have arranged to make a secret deal with Roose Bolton. The wolf boy won't see such a betrayal coming. We know that he's already made a deal with Walder Frey, but I'm certain father can persuade him in a different direction." Cersei smirked, grabbing his face and kissed him deeply. "Now let's just focus on us."
Jaime allowed himself to kiss her back for a very long moment until his mind began to fight his desires where he drew his head backwards shaking his head slowly no. "There's something I just remembered I need to take care of with father."
"Father can wait."
He gently pushed him off his lap heading towards the shut chamber door. "You know he doesn't like waiting."
"Jaime." Cersei called his name.
He didn't spare her another glance and went into the hallway quickly heading in the opposite direction of his father's chambers. He instead knocked on the chamber door of his brother's seeing the younger lion peek into the hallway. "Does she know you're here?"
"I don't think she suspects anything. But we should talk quickly."
Tyrion opened the door letting him inside, locking the door behind him. "What are you wanting to know, Jaime?"
"I need to know if you have any information on Haelesa. Is she still alive and living in the Stark camp?"
His younger brother walked over to his bed dragging out the wooden box. He flipped over the lid picking out the letters from his secret lover. He came back over to his older brother shuffling them around until he found one that would give him the answers he desired. "I've been writing letters to her handmaiden for quite some time. Chezney and I have a connection. But Haelesa is now being declared Queen in the North. They're looking for more allies and planning to come remove Joffrey from the throne."
"They need to worry about making allies with Walder Frey and Ramsay Bolton. Cersei and father have something in the works with them."
Tyrion nearly clutched the letters he held in his hands. "We need to warn them."
"I doubt you can keep sending secret letters now that our father is Hand of the King." Jaime sent his brother a worried look.
Tyrion snatched a pen and a blank scroll of paper. "I have to try. Chezney is the woman for me. This is the best way I can protect her." Jaime curiously watched his brother from the doorway, he wouldn't admit it out in the open but he was happy his brother had found someone to care for.
Haelesa's pov
Climbing out from under the furs of the bed Grey Wind lifted his head up from his paws where he was laying on the dirt ground. Walking across the ground I slid my trousers up before tying my boots on. Shrugging a brown tunic shirt I clasped my green and Grey fur cloak over my shoulders. Finally I twisted my hair into a simple braid that fell down my back. I pushed opened the tent flap with the loyal direwolf trailing my boots as I went on my search to find my young husband.
Strolling around the camp I did miss my best friend dearly. We hadn't received any word yet from her or Lady Stark yet which caused me to begin to worry. Neither of us was suited for the role that had been pushed upon us, but we'd never stop trying to do the best that we could at the end of the day.
Drawing opened the tent flap I noticed that my husband wasn't seated in his war tent like he usually was during the morning. A few moments later I heard the sound of chattering horse hooves coming up behind the tent so I snuck around to find my husband seated on horseback with a smile crossing his lips. "I was planning on surprising you this morning. But apparently you woke up before I could sweep you off your feet."
"Sweep me off my feet, eh. How many childish tales did you hear about knights and ladies hmm?" I chuckled, shaking my head playfully at the young man before me.
Robb dropped his gaze to his hands holding the reins of his horse. "Far too many from my sister Sansa...dare I ask, is it working?"
"God's no." I snorted out a laugh, brushing my fingers over his left hand that was easiest to grab. "It's awfully cute though."
Robb's face flushed a dark red. "Please don't let any of my bannermen hear you say that."
"Don't worry it'll be our little secret." I smiled intertwining my hand with his free one, curious to what he had planned. "So what secret are you keeping from me? Why are you coming to find me on horseback?"
Robb shifted his gaze down to mine. "We've been ruling and I think it's time we deserve a break. So climb on and I'll show you my surprise."
Carefully climbing up on the back of his horse I know I probably shouldn't be riding given the fact that I was heavily pregnant. The horse ride was silent and short until we were briefly far away from the camp where Robb pointed with his finger in front of us, causing me to follow where he was pointing. "Oh Robb. You didn't have to do all this for me."
Before my eyes there was a tarp sprawled in front of us. There was a basket filled with food and a goblet pitcher of ale sitting beside it. A small picnic simply laid before the two of us.
"We've spent far too much time and allowed for more stress than either of us ever imagined. So we deserve this moment together you and I." Robb dismounted the horse first, placing his hands on my hips lowering me off the horse.
Draping my arms over his shoulders I leaned up on my toes kissing him slowly. "Thank you for doing this for me. I have been needing a distraction with Chezney being gone to negotiate with Renly."
"I know you miss her. I miss my mother and my siblings too." He shut his eyes, doing his best not to start shedding tears thinking about them.
Raising one hand up I cradled his cheek in my palm. "I wish you didn't have so much to bear weighing on your shoulders, my wolf."
"We will all be together again soon. That's what has kept me going all this time...come let's not let the food get cold, Hael." He tugged me down to sit beside him on the tarp and we let all our worries disappear for a short time. Having no idea what the Lannisters had planned for us in the future.
