Stark War Tent -
"Are you sure about this?" Catelyn asked her eldest son, eyeing the war map laid out in front of them. "It's dangerous."
"If we take Tywin's castle from him the lords of Westeros will realize he's not invincible. Take his home, take his gold, take his power." Robb explained to her as confident as he could sound in that exact moment.
She eyed her son still not following why it was just them speaking about this and not having his top bannermen be here as well. "Why are you telling me?"
"You begged me not to send Theon to negotiate with his father and I ignored your advice. Now Winterfell is burnt to the ground, the North is overrun with Ironborn, and Bran and Rickon are gone. So Casterly Rock, I'm asking your advice."
She questioned him simply. "We have enough men?"
"If Walder Frey cooperates along with Lord Velaryon." Robb picked up the board piece that was to represent the Frey army.
Catelyn mumbled back to her son. "If Walder Frey cooperates - if reinforcements arrive from King's Landing before we take the castle we'll be caught between Tywin's army and the sea."
"We'll lose the war and died the way father died or worse."
She bared her teeth just wanting her remaining family safe and back together. "Show them how it feels to lose what they love."
"It shall be done, mother." Robb nodded his head on his way to exit the tent until his mother spoke up.
"Who came up with this idea? To take Casterly Rock with the hope that House Velaryon would join our cause."
He slowly turned half his body back towards her. "Haelesa."
"You haven't spoken with her since we left Frey's castle. Am I allowed to know whatever she said to you there?"
The young wolf walked back over to the table, leaning his hands flat on the table speaking to her. "The baby she was carrying was not mine, but in fact the Kingslayer's. She had been sharing his bed before we were wed then she didn't tell me that she was even truly pregnant. So I have a very valid reason to not wish to speak with her."
"Oh my boy, I'm sorry." His mother gently touched his forearm.
He closed his eyes, running his fingers through his messy curls. "I trusted her. I gave my heart to her and this is what she does to me."
"Are you going to banish her?"
He met her gaze, dropping his shoulders heavily at her question. Regardless of how she made him feel he couldn't imagine sending her and Chezney away to fend for themselves in the middle of a war zone. "I don't think I can. If I don't have her by my side there's no way her father will accept to help us. But I don't know what to do about the lie we told him. She's not pregnant with my child."
"The solution is simple, my boy. You have to get her pregnant." Catelyn responded to him.
Robb raised a brow at her slightly offended. "Are you telling me to rape her, mother!"
"Gods, no." She raised her hands in surrender. "What I mean to say is that she is your wife now. Her role is to provide you with an heir. She married you knowing that was the case. So do you duty together until there's a baby in her belly."
He slowly nodded his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "I think I should try and talk with her first."
"You should go rest, my boy. You've been up for many hours in the past nights. I'll talk with her." She squeezed his shoulder exiting the tent and he silently watched her leave hoping his mother wouldn't be too hard on the young lady.
