TW: Eating disorder, suicidal intentions and implied abuse

Carly was like a work daughter to Reece, to the point he would do anything to for. Just like today, when Carly was waiting by the bus stop, getting drenched in rain, yet she was still bubbly and lively just like any other day. Reece saw her and pulled over, winding down his window, yet Carly didn't see him, as she was jamming to her music through her headphones. Reece rolled his eyes and reserved until he was right in front of her. Carly opened her eyes and saw him. "Reece?" Carly moved forwards to talk to him. "Get in." Reece rolled up his window, waiting for Carly to get in, yet he looked out his window, seeing Carly backed away. He at first rolled his eyes, then noticed Carly's behavior. She wasn't lively and bubbly like he first intended, she was more quiet and more kept to herself. He beeped his horn, gaining Carly's attention. "Kid, get in." Reece waited for Carly, who didn't move. "Carly. Get your ass in this vehicle right now." Carly ignored Reece, which confused Reece, since she normally listened, especially with his deep, threatening voice. Yet, she didn't move. He got out and moved closer to her. "Carly. What's wrong?" Reece grabbed her arm, before she swiped it away. "It's nothing Reece!" She snapped, causing Reece to worry. He grabbed her arm and dragged her to his car. He basically threw her in, and once he got in, locked the doors and sped off. Carly stared out the window, meanwhile trying to unlock the door, which Reece kept locking. He arrived and let her out, and she sprinted in the building, but not before 'yelling' at him. "Don't pick me up again!" She stormed off, slamming the door. Reece got out and went inside, going straight to his office. He had a feeling Carly was having an off day, so he didn't push her. When her lunch time came, she didn't walk into his office, and he was starting to get worried. He got up and walked out of his office, and into the staff room, where he saw Carly sat. He handed her his wallet, before Carly shoved it away, not looking up from her phone. Reece looked at his wallet, then Carly. "Carl's... what's wrong with you today?" Reece sat down across from her, but her eyes never left her phone. He sat there for a bit, before getting up and leaving. Carly thought she was finally free, until Reece came back with their normal meal deals. Carly rolled her eyes and continued looking at her phone. Reece placed them in front of her. "Go on, do your sorting thing." Reece waited, before groaning. "Fine, I'll keep them for tomorrow then." He stood up and put them in the fridge, before walking back to the office. The end of the day rolls around, and Reece waits in his car, waiting for Carly to come, yet she never did. He figured she left early, so he drove off, but on his way, he saw Carly running. He knew it had something to do with a parent, when suddenly he got a notification. Reece had secretly added himself to the parents WhatsApp group disguised as a parent, and sure enough, someone had messed Carly up. Yesterday, someone made comments about Carly, more specifically, her eating disorder. He pulled over, and Carly stopped running, knowing the car. Reece got out and walked over to her. "Carly. Get in, please." Carly hesitated before getting in, sweating hard. Reece sighed and got in, dropping her off to her house. "Thank you, Reece." She smiled before she got out, going into her house. He drove off. The next day, Carly's mother came running in. "Reece! Has Carly come in today!?" Reece looked up and shook his head. "No, she said she was sick, why?" Carly's mother looked mad, and sad at the same time. "That bitch has run away!" She slammed a letter down on the table with Reece's name on it. He opened it as he read out the letter

Dear Reece

This has all been too much for me to handle, and this felt like the only escape. Please don't blame yourself, because without you, Marjorie or Char, I would've done this months, or even years ago. You've made me remember what it's like to have a father and made me know what it's like to have a big brother. Thank you so much for everything you've done.

P.S. Don't come find me, I know you know where I am, but don't. This isn't your job. It's the polices. Don't come looking, send the police.

Love you as a daughter.

Carly❤️😜

Reece's heart sunk. He knew exactly where she was. Carly's mother went to Marjorie's nursey, while Reece sped off. Carly was standing at a pharmacy, before paying for everything and going back to her place. She laid on her bed, all the pills next to her. She was about to take them all, when her bedroom door bursts open. She can only stutter out two words. "He- hey... Re- Ree- Reece..." She smiles nervously, before Reece walked closer to her. Carly didn't get to move before Reece smacked all the pills out of her hand and shaking her. "What the fuck were you thinking Carly!?" He screamed at her, causing the teenager to tear up. "I don't know!" He hugged her, before driving her to the nursey to drop her off to her mother. They arrived, and a few people were standing in the office, including Carly's mother. Her mother moved closer, but nobody expected what she would do. She raised her hand and slapped her. Everyone stood frozen in shock. Marjorie quickly shielded Reece, Winter for Autumn. But no one shielded a certain person who came in after. "Hey bitch." Carly's mother turned around, only to be welcomed to a fist in the face. Thick red blood ran down her face. Carly looked up to see a red-haired women looking at her mother. "I'll be collecting her stuff soon, okay?" Mia walked out. Everyone stood shocked, even Carly. Did Mia really just stand up for Carly? Carly ran out. "Mia! Wait!" Carly chased after her, and when the redhead turned around, she was sort of pushed back. The young girl wrapped her arms around Mia. "Thank you so much..." Mia stood shocked, as did Reece, who had followed her. "You have no clue what she would do to me..." Carly broke down, and Mia saw red. Reece grabbed the girl, and Mia walked back into the office. Carly's mother had heard what Carly just said, and tried to back away, only to be held in place by Autumn. Marjorie stopped everything before this escalated, sending everyone home. The following days were Mia and Reece collecting Carly's stuff. Reece had a spare room and figured it would be easier if they moved in together, along with Marjorie.

Carly had only then realized, she found her family. And she loved them.
