CHAPTER 4:
In every darkness there is a light.
"Leafage"
She yelled and a gush of wind gathered around her staff before it glowed green and shot forward towards the dragon.
"Emperor"
He yelled and fire burst out of his staff and shot forward towards the dragon.
The second attacker didn't waisted time and charged forward towards the dragon's leg.
"Cyclone" He said,
He spinned like some kind of rotating circular saw,
*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*
He heard like his blade struck metal,
"Curses its scales ate as tough as Iron"
He cursed.
"Cogan should hurry" He said and made a U turn and runs back to slash the monster leg once more, hoping to eventually make a dent.
*************
Cogan is seen using the cover of the tree canopy, and sneaking up on the monster from behind. He raised his head seeing the most vital part that must be removed before killing a dragon. Just above him were its wings and it's was too occupied to notice, so he had to work fast.
He raises his great sword and jumps up, meeting the dragons wing in mid air and the great sword blade glows once again.
"Cross slash"
He say's and lands with one leg on the dragons back between it's four wings. Before the dragon could react, Cogan spins really fast along with his sword. Then streams of white light are seen going through the wings and in less than seconds the wings fell and blood sprayed all over the place.
*ROOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR*
The black horned dragon roars in pain, the deafening sound of its roar released shockwave that shook the ground and stopped the others attack in an instant.
Cogan held unto the dragons back as it roared and shook in pain, he didn't let go and held on. The dragon stopped, with its scary glowing eyes staring at the humans with rage. The 3humans were down and one with them, standing and healing the other's wounds.
They didn't understand what happened but one thing they did understand was that what hit them wasn't just a regular shockwave. It didn't just knock them down, it drained them as well. One was seated under a tree and seemed to pose no threat to it.
They were frightened and scared seeing the dragon cold blooded gaze on them. Thier healing was slow as the healer was also affected by the wierd shock wave. The dragon opened its mouth and fire began to form, they were scared and had no idea where Cogan is or if his even alive, the extra mage they brought with them was useless.
There's was no use fighting it, they've lost.
Before the dragon could unleash its fiery breath, Cogan leaps up into the air from behind and its great sword shone bright.
"Impact crash" He yelled,
Cogan swung his sword downward.
*BOOM*
A direct hit on the head of the beast, powerful enough to shut the dragons mouth close. Cogan stood on the dragon head and drew out his sword, which bearly even made a dent on it's skin.
"It's not over"
"We're not dying here today" He says to himself.
Cogan jumps up once more for another impact crash, the dragon raises it's hand and caught Cogan in mid air. The speed at which its hand use to get him was unbelievable even he didn't see it coming.
Cogan raises his sword and struck the dragon's hand over and over, desperate hoping for a chance to escape. But with the second attackers broke legs and the mages exhaustion they'll never get out of there in time, it's over.
*CLANG*
*CLANG*
*CLANG*
Cogan struck the dragon hand with his sword not ready to give up and hoping for a way out. His sword dropped from his hand and despite all his attempt, there was no way out.
"It's over" he said.
The dragon raises his hand and threw Cogan at his teammates like a worthless piece of trash. He struck the ground beside then and laid motionless on the ground, his hands bent backwards and probably a few broken bones.
"Elaina" one of the mage called out to the healer,
"Don't worry about us, focus all your energy on healing Cogan, he won't make the trip back"
Elaina stopped healing the mage and moves to Cogan as quick as possible,
"Seems like none of us will make it back" one of the mage said noticing the dragons gaze on them.
The dragon took a deep breath, ready to fire.
"It was an honour fighting alongside you all" Cogan said weakly and loosing consciousness.
"This was fun" Elaine said and they all held hands,
"You guys are kinda like family to me" A mage said and tears flowed down her cheeks,
"This is good bye"
The dragon opened its mouth and purple flame surged out of it's mouth, towards them.
"In the midst of darkness, they'll always be light"
A large card appeared before them shield them from the dragons fiery breath. They opened their eyes the mysterious cloaked stranger standing infront of them, and a large purple card floating in front of him and was absorbing the dragons flames. The stranger raises his hand, getting thier attention and turns his head to the side looking at them over his shoulder.
"You all fought well, I'll take over here" He said.
in a desperate situation like this, who would say no.
