CHAPTER 6: FALLEN
"Let's end this"
From the stack of cards in his hands, he picked up 2 from it and flung them into the air. The cards glowed and suddenly transformed into streams of light and landed in front of the adventurer. The mage watched the fight in awe, never in all thier adventures have they met someone with such magic. They were shocked, so were the others and the expressions on thier face were priceless. Their, eyes widened in shock of what they saw next.
"Impossible" One said,
Then came the other,"It can't be" He said in disbelief.
They witnessed with thier very eyes as the stranger cards transformed and then rose the undead. They were skeleton archers with mythil level bows in their hand.
Necromancer's were not new in this world but but they were exceptionally rare to come across and the spells known to summon the undead if not a necromancer were indeed long and only done by powerful mages. But before their very eyes he summoned powerful undead archers without the need of saying words.
To their eye this stranger protecting them was a monster on his owns, with powers beyond their knowledge and understanding. The skeleton archers stood before their summoner, they drew their bow string and behold black energy arrows formed and they are far more lethal than regular arrows.
"Go" The stranger orders.
He gave the order and without delay the skeleton warriors charged at the dragon. They shot lethal black arrows as they moved swiftly around it, the dragon was weary of them but didn't realise what was going on. The arrows struck it's valuable armoured scales but had no effect, the dragon didn't feel anything and focused on squashing the annoying insects rounding him. Unknown to it, each shot of the skeleton arrow which possessed Zero piercing effect but had a decaying effect which will eat through any substance until there's nothing left.
The decaying effect of their arrows set in and it's armour got weaker and weaker than ever before, and the adventurer saw it as the chance to strike. He flipped up another card and grabbed it with his right hand, ready to strike. The adventurers behind him watched eager to know what other wild card he would pull out from his sleeves.
The skeleton archers kept it distracted and the mysterious adventurer raised his card and focused.
*RRROOOOOOOAAAAARRRRRRR*
The dragon roared in anger feeling it's precious armoured scales weakened and began to crumble on the ground annoyed. It couldn't seem to land a solid attack, the skeleton archers, their dead, fast and thier range and accuracy is frightening. They were like cockroaches so why bother to catch them, instead he turned to thier summoner, with it's incredible vision he could see the adventurer eyes closed.
"Fool" it thought,
Even with one working leg, it leaned to the side on his petrified leg and raised it's working leg high up, ready to release all it's power into it's technique "STOMP".
It marched it's leg to the ground with full force, sending the skeleton archers flying high up into the air and the earth around it rumbled furiously."AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Cogan and his party screamed in fright as the earth beneath them rumbled assive about to tear itselfopen at any moment. The mysterious adventurer stood still, eyes closed with total focus. An effect of the dragon's technique "STOMP", It has any interesting way of sending rocks to the targeted direction by its user.
Multiple large rocks from the crumbled ground were sent all at once towards him, He stayed, focused, the moment he opens his eyes. He didn't wait any further, in his position, he moves his left leg to the back and launches himself forward, doing a side flip. He flipped through through an opening between the flying rocks and avoided them, inches to collision.
Cogan saw these rocks flying towards them, his teammates held unto his shield and raised it up.
"Shelter!!!" He yelled and a yellow barrier appeared, protecting them as the rocks slammed unto the shield and crumbled.
The adventurer made a smooth landing and threw his card. The card was like a stream of light, flying swiftly through the air, faster than the eye could see. In those final moments as it approached the dragon,
"Mystic technique, slice"
The speed of the card increased 10 folds. It sliced through the dragons armoured scales with a clean cut, slicing through both its hearts into 2 unequal parts and coming out from its back. The dragon didn't know what happened, it gasped for air, and blood spilled out from it's mouth and fell to the ground.
The mysterious adventurer walked towards it, starring down at it's lifeless body, deciding what to do with him. He drew another card and flung it into the air, it spinned above the lifeless body like a little fan. Then all the dragons remaining scales which is yet to decay began to rise, being pulled out from the dragons body and elevating into the card. When it was done the card returned to it's owner. The skeleton archers returned as they got to him, they went down on one knee and bowed thier heads before him.
"Return" He said.
Both skeleton archers glowed and reduced into bright little light. The light faded instantly revealing 2 cards and they floated back to thier owner. The adventurer grabbed his card and placed his hands into his cloak pockets and began to leave.
Cogan and the rest were shocked by the incredible power this stranger has achieved. Cogan wasn't even sure whether to call him a mage after all he just displayed. Cogan forced himself up from the ground,
"Cogan take it Easy" said the healer and he ignored.
"Help me up" he said,
The healer didn't talk back and talk back and held his muscular arm, struggled and raised him up from the ground.
"Thank you!!!" He yells as loud as he could so the mysterious adventurer could hear him. His voice echoed through the forest, but got no response from the mysterious adventurer who saved his life and that of his teammates.
The adventurer vanished from their sight and they couldn't help but wonder who he truly was.
"What type of friends does Bridget make"
Cogan asked himself.
