Simeon sat back in his office chair, a cigarette between his lips. He didn't know why he just couldn't get the daring blue eyes out of his mind.

The way she bit her bottom lip—he had never felt what he felt today when he saw her. He had seen countless women and slept with them whenever he felt like it, but none of them ever made his heart skip a beat with just a look.

Simeon puffed out smoke and placed the cigarette in the ashtray on his desk.

Even though he had asked for her to be delivered to his room, he didn't have the heart to go and see her yet.

His eyes darted to the 9mm gun that lay on his desk, and he took it in his grasp.

There was an auction tonight, and Simeon had to go and monitor especially the girls. Suddenly, he closed his eyes, his cold face cracking a little with sadness.

He lit another cigarette as a knock came on his office door. He didn't bother to raise his head because he knew who it was.

The door opened, and a redhead walked inside. Simeon held his calm until the door was fully locked.

"What happened to Leona?" Simeon's sharp voice sliced through the tension in the air, and the temperature of the room dropped immediately.

"Sir..."

"Straight answer, Alessandro?"

"Your father asked us to kill her and replace her with the new girl."

Simeon's lips curled into a demonic smile that made Alessandro shiver.

He knew that once his father found out about his interest in Leona, she would be dead. He sincerely just didn't expect it to be this soon.

"Who do you work for?" His voice was laced with extreme murderous intent.

Simeon took his cigarette between his fingers and let out a puff of smoke. His other hand grabbed his gun off the desk again, and he quickly disassembled it.

"I work for you, sir," Alessandro answered, but Simeon didn't respond as he placed the cigarette at the corner of his lips.

"Why?" Simeon leaned back, finally allowing his hawk-like eyes to land on the man in front of him, making Alessandro suck in a deep breath.

It felt as if Simeon's eyes held a dagger to his throat; it felt like Alessandro was standing in a lion's den.

"I owe my life to you, sir," Alessandro whispered, and Simeon's smirk grew wider.

"Remember that in the near future, because you have one single chance left." Alessandro nodded, and suddenly he felt the air in the room was breathable.

"I want every detail on the new girl—a background check," Simeon ordered, and Alessandro nodded before scurrying out of the room like a scared rabbit.

Simeon leaned back as anger rushed through his veins. It seemed like his father would never learn his lesson, but soon he was going to let the old man get a taste of his own medicine.

It had been him who was forced to obey the rules, but soon his father would have to pay for all he had done. Simeon threw the cigarette butt in the ashtray.

He stood up and walked toward the glass window. Simeon sighed when he thought of going back to his room.

His thoughts drifted back to those baby blue eyes. He knew that no matter how hard he tried to avoid her, he would have to face her soon.

Her blue eyes intrigued him; they held an air of innocence and youthfulness. This made her seem like she didn't belong in this world—his world of blood and guns.

But Simeon knew he was selfish; he wanted to taint that innocence. Her light, white skin made him more aroused.

Simeon sighed. Even though it was lust, to him it felt so different. He felt like he wouldn't want her to be his just for a day; he wanted to see her face for a few more days.

He remembered the way she trembled under his watch, her dark hair cascading down her back, her pink, full lips slightly apart.

Simeon felt the urge to see her like that—splashing with water, yet her gaze was furious. Damn it, he needed to see her now. Simeon walked over to his office chair, grabbed his blazer and gun off his desk, and then walked out of the room down the hallway.

His man outside the office greeted him, and he nodded as he strode down the hallway toward his bedroom. The door unlocked, and Tessa fidgeted, her eyes lifting to the door as she watched it open. Her heart was drumming hard in her chest, fear and anxiety rushing through her veins.

A familiar face came into view. Tessa didn't realize that the door was being locked as her blue eyes locked with his green ones. She was lost for a while, her hands gripping tightly on the quilt she was sitting on, her lips pressed into a thin line. It wasn't that she hated him; she was afraid he was going to kill her. Her eyes caught sight of the gun in his hand, and she gasped.

Her face lost its color, her eyes wide as sweat broke out on her forehead. Tessa felt the need to rise to her feet; she didn't know what she was doing, but she felt the urge to beg for her life. The man in front of her was cold, his icy gaze fixed solely on her. Tessa shuddered and lowered her head.

Simeon felt the urge to smile; her expressions made his heart skip again. She was far more different than Leona, though he couldn't put his finger on why. He walked over to the couch and took a seat, placing the gun on the table in front of him. He pulled out a cigarette, placed it in his mouth, lit it, and then leaned back.

His eyes darted to her again. She was wearing a black vest dress that showed her back. Her hair was up in a ponytail, with light, natural makeup on her face that made her even more beautiful.

Simeon felt an overwhelming desire for her right now; he bit hard on the cigarette to control his emotions.

"Pour me something to drink," he ordered, placing his right leg over his left.

She was truly dangerous, and she didn’t realize that he needed something for his dry throat.
