Destined

Prologue

"Team, this is acp Riya Mukherjee, an encounter and research specialist. She'll be joining you from today onwards."

The juniors looked in awe as the woman stood beside Raghu sir. Her hair held in a high ponytail with loose strands framing her face. Her aura demanded respect and her face was devoid of any emotion.

"She'll be the second in command along with Arjun. Sameer, please show her the cabin later on." Raghu sir spoke making the juniors hold in their gasps.

It didn't take them long to realise that she was basically another version of their Arjun sir. It also made them wonder 'are all the second in commands like this?'.

"Welcome to the team Riya. We look forward to work with you.." Sameer Rathore spoke up as he gestured for a handshake which the female complied to.

"I do too Rathore sir.

"I'll take my leave now then, try to get along well with the members Riya. This team is like a family." Raghu sir said making the mentioned girl nod her head as she gave him a small smile.

"Hello, I'm Sakshi Anand, crime journalist." The bubbly girl greeted her with a smile as soon as she took her seat in the farthest corner of the room.

"Crime journalist? You don't accompany the team to field work then?"

"Uh, no I do actually. Sometimes...."

Riya realised that she had made the girl uncomfortable and decided not to question any further as to why a journalist was even needed in the team. Instead, she replied with a 'nice to meet you'.

"I'm Aisha Kapoor, encounter specialist."

"I'm shreekant Sen, but please just call me Shree. I'm the tech expert."

"I'm Lisa, forensic expert."

"I'm Chandrakant Patil. Everyone calls me Chotu here. I'm a commando."

Riya nodded at all of them and was pretty amused at Patil's nickname being 'Chotu'. Clearly doesn't match. She looked at the man standing beside the evidence board waiting for his introduction.

"Arjun Rawte, second in command." It didn't take long for Riya to understand that he was a man of few words. Probably even has anger issues judging from the scowl on his face.

Sameer showed her the cabin which she realised was adjacent to Arjun Rawte's cabin and had a big window.
