Chapter 11

"Sir, the goons agreed to have sent those letters to Kalkee ji. However, they didn't send the last letter. They're kept under arrest, but I don't think they actually kidnapped her."

"They didn't kidnap her on their own. But maybe they helped Puja and Jahnvi to do it. Keep them under arrest until we get to know the truth from Puja and Jahnvi themselves."

Sameer said making Chotu nod in response.

"Umm guys we're going to the Singhania house today evening. And I don't think they'll let us come back tonight. So be ready to stay the night there."

Abhimaan's mother had called Riya in the morning after taking the number from Aditya and demanded all of them to be present at the Singhania house by evening.

"I'll give you all the details of everyone. Aisha, Shree, Chotu i know you three are having a lot of questions, I'll answer them on our way to the Singhania family."

Riya said making everyone nod their heads.

"Ok team, let's complete the case by then."

The Desai family was having Ganesh Puja going on. So the officers decided to go once it's completed.

Sameer, Arjun and Riya were in their respective rooms looking over the interrogation videos Karan, Veer and Sheetal had sent them. In just three days, the trio had managed to arrest 6 of them. By the time they were done, it was already 1 in the afternoon. The ganesh puja was also done by then, so the team went to the main house.

They only had to find proof against the middle and youngest daughter-in-law. The house was still full with people. The Mehendi ceremony was in the evening and the backyard was being decked up once again.

Sameer and Aisha were keeping an eye on the middle daughter-in-law, Jahnvi whereas Arjun and Riya were watching over the youngest daughter-in-law, Puja.

Shree and Chotu were looking for any clues against them.

"Arjun, i think we should check the rooms."

"They won't leave their room doors open when there are so many people in the house Riya... We'll have to get the keys."

Arjun muttered and just then he noticed a bunch of keys dangling from Puja's pallu.

"There. Riya, go get that bunch of keys tied in Puja's saree."

Riya's eyes followed the direction of Arjun's hands before she went up to strike a conversation with them.

Quite cleverly, she slipped out the keys without Puja's noticing.

The duo went up towards Puja's room and unlocked the door. They left the keys outside the room knowing that Puja will soon notice them missing.

Nothing in the room was out of place.

"Arjun-"

Riya was about to turn towards him when he suddenly put his hand over her mouth and swirled her around. At this point, Riya's back was pressed against the wall as Arjun stood in front of her with his hand over her mouth.

The female was about to retort when she noticed a shadow passing by the room followed by the clinking sound of keys. It didn't take her long to realise that it was Puja outside the room.

When her shadow passed by, Riya looked back her Arjun. At the same time, he looked back at her and their eyes locked.

Riya always knew that she and Arjun were similar in a lot of ways. In a way, it was safe to say that they understood each other. But right now, at this moment, she felt a different type of connection. The musky scent of his perfume was almost alluring.
