"Rawte... Can we talk?"
Sameer's voice rang in the car as both of them were on their way back to the ETF office. Karan had suggested to drop Riya to the office making her furrow her eyebrows at him. However, she had to give in when he looked at her with puppy eyes.
Arjun was about to give a sarcastic remark when the pleading look in Sameer's eyes made him stop.
"Speak."
Sameer took in a deep breath trying to frame his words but wasn't able to form a proper sentence.
"I'm sorry." Just those two words made Arjun's head snap towards him. Hearing no reply, Sameer continued.
"I'm sorry Juno. I'm sorry for blaming you. I'm sorry for not considering what you were going through. I-i know how much you loved her, I saw it with my own eyes. Yet I don't know why i blamed you... I'm sorry for everything... I really am... I'm sorry for not having your back, for not trusting you... I don't know if you can ever forgive me, but i can die to have our old friendship back..."
Arjun looked away as tears had started pricking his eyes... He missed his bestfriend. He wanted to hug him that instant and cry his eyes out... But what about the hurt? What about the self doubt he had gone through all these years? What about the times when he questioned his own sanity? Were they too easy to forget?
Taking a deep breath he answered.
"It'll take time. I don't know if it can ever go back exactly to how it was, but we can try.. I'll try not to be as rude as I was to you..."
From the corner of his eyes, he saw a tear dropping from Sameer's eyes which he quickly rubbed away.
"Thank you Juno... I'll try my best to gain your trust again.. I won't disappoint you this time."
The duo reached the office to find an eerie silence.
The door of Riya's cabin was wide open while she was standing at the door.
"What-" Sameer had started to ask when his and Arjun's eyes fell on the floor of Riya's cabin.
Glass was shattered everywhere and there was a photo frame lying in the middle. There were files scattered all over her desk. It clearly looked like someone was searching for something.
Sakshi stood in front of where the broken frame laid. Aisha, Shree and Chotu were standing at the corner.
Sameer and Arjun could feel the anger radiating from Riya. And that's when it clicked. Sakshi was going through her personal things and when Riya came in she had probably dropped the photo frame.
And by what the SamJun duo could see, the photograph was of Riya and Abhimaan.
The girl took small steps ahead and hovered over the frame. Picking it up she put it back where it was.
"Get out of here this instant. I'll send you your termination letter by tomorrow. You are fired."
The icy tone of her voice made everyone shudder.
"W-what?! You can't do that!"
Sakshi's high pitched voice sounded and Riya who had turned around to throw away the pieces of glass, turned out and banged her hand on her desk.
"You want to see what I can do?! I can ban you and you won't get a damn fucking job! You'll have to roam around in the streets begging for a job but you still won't get one! I can make your life so miserable that you won't even get a job as a restaurant worker! You want me to do that?!"
The glass pieces had pierced her palm when she banged her hand. The members could see blood oozing out but were afraid to do or say anything.
"I had warned you this morning to not mess with me. My life is not your fucking concern! I told you, didn't I?! Yet, you come to my cabin when I'm not here and go through my personal things! Who gave you the damn audacity?!"
