"So if there's a dealing in Pune tomorrow, he's probably going to leave Mumbai by tonight. We have to catch him before then."
Raghu sir said making the officers nod their heads.
"Sameer, Arjun, Riya find out everything on this man. Start making files on him and try to complete it as soon as you can."
"Karan, Veer, Sheetal activate your informers and find out his location. He definitely won't be going by his real name. You'll arrest him on the basis of the files they'll be making."
Raghu sir said making everyone nod their heads as they set to work.
The team immediately sat down for work. Raghu sir told them to start working in his house to avoid loosing any more time.
While the ETF members were busy with their laptops trying to find informations about the man, the other three were calling their informers. Raghu sir himself was on call with some other local police stations to start checking every car passing through the roads that lead out of the city. He had sent them the picture of Afsar telling them to inform him if they find him.
The files were almost ready when Karan's phone rang.
"Did you find him? Name of the hotel? Alright."
Cutting the phone call, he looked at the others.
"Sir he's in Hotel De Lune. Its in the other part of the city. He's going by the name Raj Singh. My informers confirmed that it was indeed him and that he will be leaving in two hours."
"Sir, I think they should leave at this very moment. If Afsar gets a hunch about us following him, he'll run away."
Riya said making the officers nod their heads.
"The files are almost ready sir, we'll email them if needed. But we need to catch him first."
Sameer said making Raghu sir nod his head and the three officers made their way to Hotel De Lune.
The ETF officers completed the files and sent them via email.
They had to leave for their office since it was already late and it was their responsibility to atleast check if there was any case. But they were also skeptical to leave.
After Raghu sir assured them that he'll contact them as soon as the other three call him, the trio finally left for office.
Good thing was that there wasn't any case today. This wasn't due to their good luck.
Raghu sir had contacted the higher officials to not let any case be given to etf unless it's very necessary. The higher officials knew about them working on Sikander's case and agreed to it.
After greeting the three junior officers, Sameer, Arjun and Riya went back to their respective cabins and started digging out for more information related to this Afsar guy.
It was almost late noon when Arjun came in Riya's cabin.
"Raghu sir called. They have managed to catch Afsar and have taken him in that secluded jail. We are told to go there directly."
He informed making Riya nod her head. As she collected her belongings, Arjun informed Sameer and the three of them left for the jail.
This was the third time in three days they were coming to this jail and they knew that they'll be coming here more frequently.
In the interrogation room, a man was sitting tied to the chair, unconscious. Karan, Veer, Sheetal and Raghu sir were standing outside the room watching him through the glass door.
On the arrival of the ETF officers, all of them went inside the interrogation room.
Karan threw the water from the glass kept on the table on Afsar's face making him snap out of his unconsciousness. Squinting at the sudden brightness, he looked around him. There was a gash on his forehead and by the looks of it, his left arm was almost broken.
"Why am I here?! Who are you all?!"
"We aren't here to give you any introduction. We'll ask you some questions, the faster you answer them, the better for you."
"And why should I comply? You think you can just bring me here, tell me to answer your questions and I'll do so?"
His high pitched voice had already started ticking Riya's patience. While the other two ETF officers remained unknown to it, Karan, Sheetal and Veer could feel the air around her getting cold.
"If you don't answer us, things will be hard for you." Karan said in his ever so calm voice. This was the reason why he used to lead the interrogations.
"You think you can scare me by that? Omgggg I'm sooo scared!!"
"You bloody rascal-!"
Riya's patience finally broke hearing his high pitched mocking as she took the empty glass on the table ready to break it on his head before Sheetal and Veer held her back.
It was decided that it'll be better if Sameer and Karan lead the interrogation since both of them are very patient and know how to handle the interrogations.
The rest of the members stood outside the room watching through the glass window. Afsar was too much of a stubborn and Riya had almost gone inside to smack his head on the table. However this time, Arjun realised it and held her back whereas Sheetal quickly went to get her a cup of coffee along with the others.
After wasting almost two hours, Afsar had still not opened his mouth. Raghu sir decided that he should be shifted to the 'special room'.. And although he thrashed around wildly, Sheetal knocked him out skillfully by giving a jab on his neck.
The 'special room' was one which was specially designed for stubborn criminals. It was a closed room unlike the interrogation room and one couldn't see from outside what was going on inside. Sameer and Karan entered the room and shut the door.
The others who stayed outside could occassionally hear some loud sounds which sounded like Afsar was being beaten up along with his groans and curse words.
It was a sick pleasure to hear the same guy screaming for mercy who was being so sarcastic some time back.
Around half an hour later both the officers came out looking unbothered. Afsar was taken out and his clothes were almost torn, there were red cut marks all over his back.
He was once again led into the interrogation room and this time, he answered everything within seconds. The special room indeed was useful huh.
The video was recorded and Afsar was taken into one of the cells of the jail, once again unconscious.
"We got the details about Sikander."
