"Come in all of you. I know you all have questions, but please sit down first." Raghu sir said as he led them inside and gave them a glass of water each.
"Let's start with the actual introduction first. Riya, go ahead." Raghu sir said making the girl look at him as if to ask 'are you sure?' to which he nodded.
"Riya Mukherjee. Also known as Adhya. Undercover agent. Encounter specialist, research specialist and now, second in command of ETF. "
"Adhya? The one who arrested Iqbal?" Sameer said making the girl nod her head.
Iqbal was one of the most prominent mafias related to hijacking of children and women. Over the years, many efficient officers had tried to catch him but all of them had been unsuccessful until a year back, when Adhya, who was supposedly Iqbal's girlfriend, turned out to be an undercover agent and arrested him.
The thing about undercover agents are, no one knows how they look. None of their information is shared anywhere. It was now that the two ETF officers realised why there was no job or personal info about Riya.
As they were letting the information sink in ther brains, the door bell rang and Karan came in.
"Ok, now that Karan is here, let's start the main topic."
"Arjun... I know this is probably gonna come off as insensitive, but can you please remove the bandage on your arm?"
As soon as Raghu sir asked, the air in the room shifted. Arjun's posture became more stiff and one could easily tell that he was gritting his teeth. Sameer's was the same. Riya was confused although she had a hunch of what was going to happen. Whereas Karan seemed like he knew what it was.
Although not willing to, Arjun opened the bandage and Riya's eyes widened in surprise. There on his right arm the name 'Roshni' was tattooed which was cut by an ugly scar. The scar looked like a deliberate attempt to scratch out the name painfully and it ran throughout his forearm.
'So it's him Raghu sir was talking about....'
Riya realised as her eyes lingered longer on the scar.
"Riya..." The mentioned girl was brought out of her trance when Raghu sir called out her name.
"Your turn." Heaving out a sigh, she knew she would have to do this.
Rolling up her sleeves, she revealed an identical scar on her left hand which ran throughout the upper part of her arm. She could feel that Sameer and Arjun's eyes had widened.
'Abhi'... The name was tattooed on her left arm. And just like Arjun's, it was scratched out by the scar. It looked like both the scars were made by the same knife, maybe it was, or maybe it wasn't. However unlike Arjun's, she did not keep it bandaged.
"What's- that-" Sameer's question was cut off by Riya's sigh as she pulled down the sleeve.
"Let's start with Arjun's story first shall we?" Raghu sir said making Arjun sigh.
A lot of questions were going through his mind right now... Who gave Riya that scar? Why did it look similar to his? Why did she have an anxiety attack as soon as she saw the 'S' tattoo on the body today? Does she know 'him' too?
He knew that if he wanted answers, he'll first have to narrate his part. But honestly, he didn't want to do it.
"It all happened 4 years ago.. Me and Rathore were bestfriends. And through him, I met Roshni. She was a school teacher. We fell in love and got married. As our one year anniversary was nearing, I got a case. It involved a drug dealer who was a businessman, involved in hijacking of children and women."
