The next day Riya was sitting in her cabin when there was a knock on her door.
"Come in." Riya muttered as she closed the file she was working on. However, she was surprised to find Shree, Chotu and Aisha standing there.
"What happened? Is everything okay?" Looking at their dull faces, Riya couldn't help but worry.
"Uh- ma'am- actually-"
Shree started saying something but stuttered.
"Hey, what happened?"
"Ma'am, we are sorry for what happened yesterday... We tried to stop her from doing this, but she didn't listen to us." Aisha said as three of them bowed their heads.
"Oh. It's okay... It wasn't your fault..."
"We should've called you or Sameer sir or even Arjun sir just when she said that she would do it." Chotu said making the other two nod their heads.
"Ok ok wait, first of all, I don't think I'm much older than you or maybe I'm just the same age as you, so please just call me Riya. And secondly, it wasn't your fault. But if you still feel guilty, then don't worry, i have accepted your apology. All good now?"
The three of them smiled giving her a nod making Riya give out a small smile too.
"Now let's go and see if we have a new case or not. I think I just saw Rathore sir entering the conference room.."
Rama, a maid, was found dead in an apartment. According to Liza, the death was due to shock which resulted in a heart attack. Her lover was a bank peon. He had informed that Rama had called him telling that there's no one in the apartment... After a while, she said that there was someone and then suddenly she muttered something like 'murder' before choking sounds were heard and the line went dead.
The owner of the house, Arvind had gone out of town for a business meeting in the morning. His wife was at her sister's house since last night. After talking to the wife and her sister, Sameer had concluded that it was a natural death. Rama's lover and Arvind's wife both had mentioned that she had psychiatric problems.
However, Riya and Arjun were convinced that there was more to it. Arjun pointed out that the smell of cleaner from the bathroom where Rama's body was found, was too strong. However there was another bathroom in the apartment, and there was no such smell of cleaner there.
It was also pointed out by Riya that the biggest kitchen knife from the set of knives was absent. The forensic team had searched the whole apartment for a murder weapon but no such knife was found.
All these evidences pointed out that it was certainly not a natural death. But what they couldn't understand was which 'murder' Rama was speaking about.
"Sir, I think we can know that." Shree said making all of them look up at him.
He took out a spray and applied it all over the bathroom before handing over some black glasses to the members.
Nothing was different for a minute, but suddenly some green patches were seen. On the shower door, there was a massive green patch which looked like someone was being dragged. On the basin and floor too, there were numerous patches. There were also shoe patches which led to the bedroom.
"It's a chemical which helps to identify blood which has been cleaned off. "
Riya and Arjun had gone to meet a psychiatrist to enquire about Rama's condition.. Shree and Sameer had gone to meet Rama's lover. Aisha and Chotu had gone to ask people if anyone had seen Arvind leaving in the morning.
There were 3 people who had seen Arvind leaving. A night guard, one neighbour, and the owner of the flat. He was carrying two big suitcases and was wearing a black coat, hat and sunglasses.
