she knew what she had to do

this is dedicated to the people who hurt me so bad, nothing feels bad, or sad, or happy anymore,  who gave life a grey filter, there's no emotion anymore. just pain and guilt.

Valkyrie stood at the edge of the cliff, her toes hanging off, admiring the birds and the sounds they made, she admired the way the sun beamed across her face, she admired the way the wind flicked her hair across her face, she admired the way the grass tickled her feet, she admired the way the wind whistled happily, she admired the smell of fresh air, she admired the fact she didn't deserve any of it, she knew what she had to do.

It was a warm and sunny day in ireland, however, it wouldn't feel warm or sunny to her friends and family, it wouldn't feel warm and sunny to skulduggery, who would spend the days wondering what he could have done better, it wouldn't feel bright and sunny to tanith, who would spend the rest of her life hating herself for not noticing the signs sooner, it wouldn't feel bright or sunny to ghastly, who would constantly live in regret about deciding to take the day off, rather than sewing her a new coat, it wouldn't feel bright or sunny to china, who would wonder if she had been less selfish, less cruel, if things would have turned out this way, it may feel bright and sunny to Alice, because Valkyrie had killed her, and she would be forced to feel happy. Valkyrie was selfish for doing this, she knew that much, she hated herself for being a selfish bitch who only cared about herself. but despite she knew it was a bad thing to do. She knew what she had to do

Valkyrie watched as the ocean lapsed below her, the ocean that would make her body rot, and decay, and disintegrate. She hated the water for that. She always was just a selfish bitch who thought it was okay to hate anyone who hurt her, but that didn't matter, nothing would matter soon. After all, she knew what she had to do

she had tried to tell herself that it wasn't her fault, that it would go away eventually. "tell that to the families of the people you killed, tell that to Alice, to never, to auger, to omen, all dead, or hurt beyond fixing because of you, you, you"said the voice in her head (were js gonna pretend that omens dead lol) the last word echoed through her body, her skull, her mind, skulduggery had taught her to ignore this voice, that it would do nothing but bring her down, but this voice was merely speaking the truth,  Valkyrie knew this now, she was going to do what she had to do

when Valkyrie tipped over the edge, she found herself thinking of a poem from a game she had played with tanith,

"Get out of my head before I do what I know is best for you.

Get out of my head before I listen to everything she said to me.
Get out of my head before I show you how much I love you.
Get out of my head before I finish writing this poem.

But a poem is never actually finished.
It just stops moving"

The memory made her smile, as he skull splatted, shattered, and her body was torn apart by the water

Valkyrie Cain was gone. She did what she had to do

credits to Dan Salvato for writing the poem above, and inspiring this one shot, and credits to the people who made my life hell for 3 years, and not even moving across the world turned down the temperature of that hell.

this is my work, and is really personal, I don't really care if you take the main story and take it as your own, but please don't take this

thank you,
