Spoiler alert, china was fine, she was only internally bleeding a little, and then they stitched her head up and bam, just like that, she was fine, she was always tired though, like always. Probably from lack of sleep. That would make sense, she thought. She always seemed to get tired right before she had to be somewhere, literally always. She opened her eyes, looked at her wrist, then groaned at the time, although she figured that she could still make it if she broke the speed limit.

just little bit.

okay, maybe a lot.

she went to her bedroom and grabbed a red strapless dress, and tried In vain to do the zipper. She practically shouted, the whole universe was against her today. She threw the red dress to the side and grabbed a looser black one that actually fit over her swollen stomach, brushed her hair, put on a lipstick that was a bit to red for her liking, and some tights with black stilettos that made her ankles feel like they were going through hell.

she sighed, grabbed her car keys, a black purse that was probably way to expensive and a book, because knowing these events, they were very very boring. she sighed again, she really didn't want to go to where ever the hell she was supposed to be going.

She walked out the door and down the stairs as somebody proposed to her. yay. she really didn't feel like dealing with this shit right now It wasn't exactly a proposal, more like a suggestion, but still, it irked her.

she sighed for the third time. Then froze at the sight of the gleaming black Bentley, she practically ran to skulduggery who was getting out of the car.

"please tell me that world is ending" she said, way too pleadingly. He smiled, a grin that always managed to make her feel better.

"not today unfortunately" he said, and she slumped her head against his chest in exaggerated defeat. He chuckled softly and wrapping his arms around her.

"where are you supposed to be anyways" he said as China pulled away

"some event or another that I really *really* do not want to go to"

he tilted his head slightly " you do realise your an adult" he remarked "You don't have to go if you don't want to".

She nodded, letting out a rueful laugh. "I know, but I promised this time."

"promises are meant to be broken" he said with a shrug

"fair enough" she said and looked at him "care to go on a walk?" He nodded, "Lead the way," he said, offering his arm.

they walked in relative silence, nobody dared say anything.

"how have you been, been a while since we've had a chat"

"I'm fine, very pregnant, thank you, how about you?"

"just saving the world, beating up some bad guys, the usual"

"oh joy" she muttered smiling her beautiful smile. "You do lead an exceptionally thrilling life, don't you?"

"I do indeed"

"yep"

"yep"

she shivered slightly, and tried to hide it, but before she could, skulduggery had already given China his suit jacket

warmth seemed to spread through her body, not from the jacket, but where skulduggery's gloves brushed against her hands, it started at the tips of her fingers and spread throughout her body. It was like there was a ball of fire in her rib cage, slamming against well, her ribs.
