The city lights were a lot brighter than our dinky town. The buildings of downtown stretched to the sky. I've never been to this big of a city. Although at the same time, we had driven to the middle of nowhere in the last two hours. I kept grinding my teeth, nervous for so many reasons unknown to even me. Voices were going to fill my head soon but I've accepted this insanity. I wanted it.
I wanted it.
"Okay we are here guys", Zaya said. She pulled into a parking spot but every building nearby didn't seem like anything you needed tickets to walk in for.
"Where the hell is here?", I asked as I leaned into the front between Zaya and Ryan. She giggled. I have never heard her do that. "Great now I'm terrified", I said. We all got out of the car and followed Zaya down the street. Maybe she just wanted our eyes on her, I don't know. Her body swayed along the street and cars passed by. The city was loud and bright. Everything I wasn't used to. Caleb grabbed my waist and pulled me to him. "You really don't know where we're going?", he asked me. I looked at him and shook my head. He sighed dramatically and kissed my lips, as if tonight never even happened. Zaya had a way of doing things. And I'm glad she showed up to take their mind off of what had happened earlier in the bathroom. I remember the voices. The deafening silence after they had left. I really was crazy. I bit my lip as we walked into the night, going farther into an alley. Ryan looked back at me and pretended to shoot himself in the head. The motion was perverse and sick in what it meant but I couldn't help but smile at him.

After a few minutes of walking, we came to this back door that had been ruined with graffiti and time. Zaya knocked on the door and a stranger opened it. She gave him four identical tickets and he let us silently pass by. The inside was different from the dumpy outside. The door led to a long, narrow hallway. All the walls were blood red while the floor was black. It creeped me out a little bit so I grabbed Caleb's hand tightly and looked at Ryan. Everyone looked excited but I felt terrified. I tried to breathe as we walked down the never ending creepy hallway. Where the hell did she take us?
But the second that I asked myself that question, I found the answer. Music was playing in the distance and it got louder as we got closer. At the end of the hall, colorful lights exploded and strobes were going off. "And now I have epilepsy", Ryan said. Me and him snickered at what he had said. "A rave, Zaya", Caleb asked. She smiled and said," Thought you guys wanted out of the house".

I watched excitement drain from Calebs face. He had done this a thousand Times. I guess it wasn't fun for him anymore. I intertwined our fingers to keep his heart beating. But mine didn't need any help. The crystal meth was gonna keep me alive for the rest of the night. I felt pumped. And Zaya did too, I could tell from the way she bounced in her step.
We walked under the very last regular light. inside the bigger room, colorful lights sprayed the people. It smelled like alcohol and sweat in the place but I shrugged off the smells and danced my way into the room. The music went hand in hand with my heart beat and I joined Caleb in dancing as soon as we found a spot in what seemed like the back. He seemed awkward as he danced. As if his body language gave something away. I leaned in close and yelled in his ear, hoping he could hear me over the music. "Is something wrong??".
"Dont worry about it honey".
He was screaming back at me and I couldn't hear most of what he said. People kept bumping into me and I flew into Caleb 3 times as he was saying what he did.
"So something is wrong. Tell me!".
He pulled me aside even though the music was just as loud and the room was just as crowded. But this time I could see his face and see the same drained look in his eyes. Maybe it wasn't the excitement at all.
"Caleb, what is it?"
He opened his mouth and closed it again. "I'll tell you when we get home", he said nervously. I tried to understand but I was confused. Nodding my head, I walked back to Ryan and Zaya kissing awkwardly. Zaya had her eyes open and saw me standing there dumbfounded at what I had just witnessed. Though it didn't surprise me at all. Zaya pushed Ryan back as if they hadn't been breath to breath only moments ago. The look on Ryan's face twisted in confusion and Zaya looked at me before she got lost in the crowd around us. People were shoving and dancing circles around all of us. The excitement danced in my veins like the bodies danced in the crowded room. At some point, a drunk man plowed into me. I couldn't hear what he was saying but he used my body to stand himself up. "-ank you!", I heard him say and he slipped something into my hand. Before I could question, he was swept away into the crowd. I felt whatever he had given me in between my fingers. It was some kind of pill. Despite the mystery of what it was, I shoved it in my mouth.
It tasted chalky and gross but I hoped for the best.

In the crowd, Zaya was in another world. She found me dancing in the middle of everyone and started squishing our bodies together. She pulled my hair off my neck and allowed our skin to touch in an almost uncomfortable way. She slid up and down with her hands in the air and I laughed. No one could hear me but I laughed. I pumped my hands in the air with her and felt her warm heat rising. In this moment, I wanted nothing more than to taste Caleb's skin. I wanted to feel his flesh and pull his hair while screaming his name. I giggled for no reason and all of a sudden, the whole room lit up. Colors burst and swirled in front of me as we danced and I knew I had to share this moment with Caleb. But where was he?
I fought against the crowd and moved back to where I had last seen him. I searched the room and noticed a bar the stretched half of the club. Instinctively, I knew I would find him there. I swayed to the bar and of course, he was there. Shot lined in front of him. I took a seat next to him and wrapped my arms around him, aching for his touch. For his love. "Hey baby how are you?", he yelled. " I FEEL FUCKING GREAT!!", I screeched. He smiled but he didn't know the half of it. I felt the pill working in my body. Lights fluttered and colors wrapped around my skin. I could feel the air. My heart was hammering and I didn't stop smiling. Even when I remembered that something was bothering him. "What's wrong?", I asked in a giddy smile. " I know someone here", he admitted. I tried to bite my lip to keep myself serious but he didn't seem to mind. "What do you mean? Are they the ones looking for you?", I asked trying to be concerned. But I felt so happy, that was impossible now. He flinched at my question and it was difficult to hear anything over the roar of music. But he knodded his head grimly.
Suddenly his sad expression when we arrived took on another meaning. " Fuck let's get out of here!!", I exclaimed. He shook his head. "I can't leave before everyone, it draws attention." I was so unsure. And in this state, I couldn't think right. But what he said made sense. "Then shouldn't you be dancing, trying to hide?", I considered. The thought of a man here that wanted Caleb was almost enough to put me off my high. But then again I felt my peak coming on. Caleb finished his shots and pulled me up to my feet. He pulled me to the crowd and we got lost together. He wasted no time, his body suddenly grinding on mine. He fit perfectly into my curves and I couldn't help but want to turn him on as we danced. I pressed into him and wrapped my arms behind me, around his neck. He kissed me as we danced and no one around noticed. His lips felt wet and soft and urgent. It sent chills through out my whole body. And in that moment I didn't notice the watchful eyes of the man here to bring Caleb back. Or maybe to kill him because he left.
