Persephone looked up, tears rolling down her pale face as she sat in a field of flowers.
Hades stood, watching the beauty before him.
He asked, "What makes you sad?"
"I am trapped, controlled, angry."
As she said this, she looked at her mother, another tear slipped, and Hades wiped it away.
"Eat this, and you shall feel no pain."
He held a pomegranate in his hand and a sad smile upon his face.
"Will it give me peace, joy, love?"
Hades nodded, so Persephone ate the fruit.
She looked up at Hades with wide eyes as she finished, "How?"
"This fruit is a promise. You shall come with me and I shall give you everything."
Hades held out his hand, waiting for the beauty to grab it.
Again, Persephone looked at her mother. "She shall never cage you again."
Persephone grabbed Hades' hand, and they began their journey home.
She became a queen, and he fulfilled his promises.
