With the weight of Iris's revelation hanging in the air, Albus felt the thrill of the unknown pulse through him. They were standing on the precipice of a great mystery, and there was no turning back now.

"First, we need to find the runes again," Iris said, her voice steady despite the urgency in her eyes. "They're a part of a spell I've been studying, but I can't figure it out alone."

James crossed his arms, skepticism etched on his face. "And you think we're going to help you? We've just snuck out of the common room to investigate a rumor, not get wrapped up in some grand adventure."

Albus shot his brother a warning look. "Come on, James. If something's really going on, we can't just ignore it. What if it's serious?"

Iris nodded, her expression grateful. "Thank you. I can't do this without you all. We need to work together to uncover what's behind the wall."

"Let's retrace our steps," Faith suggested, her eyes shining with determination. "If we can find the runes again, maybe we can uncover their meaning."

They turned back toward the direction they had come from, keeping their voices low as they navigated the darkened halls of Hogwarts. The flickering torches cast dancing shadows, and every creak of the ancient castle echoed ominously in the silence.

As they approached the trophy room again, Albus felt a surge of anxiety. The memory of the toppling armor still lingered in his mind. "We should be careful," he cautioned. "What if Peeves comes back?"

"Or worse," Scorpius added, glancing around nervously. "What if it's not just Peeves making those noises?"

Faith pushed the door to the trophy room open slowly. The air was still, and the trophies gleamed eerily in the dim light. "Let's find those runes," she said, stepping inside.

They spread out, searching the walls for any sign of the glowing symbols. Albus felt a knot of anticipation tightening in his stomach. Just as he was about to give up, he caught a glimmer of light reflecting off a section of stone near the back of the room.

"Over here!" Albus called, rushing to the spot. The others quickly gathered around him, their eyes widening as they saw the faint runes etched into the stone.

"Those are the ones!" Iris exclaimed, her fingers trembling as she traced the symbols. "If I can decipher them, we might uncover the spell's purpose."

"What do they say?" Rose asked, leaning in closer to get a better look.

Iris furrowed her brow, her expression serious. "They're in an ancient form of runic magic. It looks like a warning against something... something locked away. But the exact meaning is eluding me."

Albus felt a chill run down his spine. "What do you think it could be?"

"I'm not sure," Iris replied, her voice low. "But it feels like it's tied to the history of Hogwarts, something that might have been buried for a reason."

Faith stepped closer, her gaze intense. "We need to find a way to unlock whatever this is. If there's a danger lurking in the castle, we can't let it go unchecked."

"Maybe we could talk to a professor," Scorpius suggested. "They might know something about these runes."

"No way," James replied, shaking his head. "If we tell a professor, we'll definitely get in trouble for sneaking out."

"Right," Albus agreed. "We can figure this out ourselves. We just need to keep looking."

Iris nodded, her resolve strengthening. "If we can find the source of the whispers, we might uncover the truth. There's a library on the third floor that's rumored to have books about Hogwarts's hidden history."

"Then let's go," Faith said, her excitement palpable. "We can find out what's really going on."

With renewed determination, they exited the trophy room and headed toward the library. The corridors felt alive, shadows flickering in the torchlight as they moved quickly but quietly through the castle.

As they climbed the stairs to the third floor, Albus felt a surge of adrenaline. The atmosphere was thick with anticipation, and he could sense that they were getting closer to uncovering the secrets of Hogwarts.

Upon reaching the library, they found it dimly lit, the shelves towering around them like ancient guardians. Dust motes floated in the air, illuminated by the soft glow of enchanted candles. They tiptoed inside, careful to avoid making any noise.

"Where do we start?" Lily asked, glancing at the endless rows of books.

"Let's look for anything related to hidden chambers or ancient magic," Iris suggested, her eyes scanning the spines of the books.

Albus headed toward a section labeled "Historical Accounts." He began pulling books off the shelves, flipping through pages filled with stories of Hogwarts's past. Faith and Rose joined him, their brows furrowed in concentration.

"Here!" Faith exclaimed, pulling out a thick, leather-bound book. "This one looks promising. It's about Hogwarts's forgotten legends."

They gathered around her as she flipped through the pages, the musty smell of aged paper filling the air. As they read through the tales of long-lost treasures and dark magic, they found themselves captivated.

Suddenly, Iris pointed to a passage. "Look at this! It mentions a hidden chamber within Hogwarts, one that was sealed to protect the school from a powerful curse."

"What curse?" Albus asked, leaning closer to read the text.

"It doesn't say," Iris replied, her expression growing serious. "But it warns that if the chamber is opened, the consequences could be dire."

"What do you think that means?" Scorpius asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Faith bit her lip, her gaze intense. "It means we need to be careful. If there really is a hidden chamber, we shouldn't just go barging in."

As they continued to read, the whispers from the walls echoed in Albus's mind. There was something more to uncover, something that could change everything they thought they knew about Hogwarts.

Suddenly, the library doors creaked open, and Albus felt his heart leap into his throat. They all turned, holding their breath as a shadowy figure entered the room.

"Who's there?" a voice demanded, firm and authoritative.

Albus's stomach dropped as he recognized the voice—Professor McGonagall.

"Uh-oh," James muttered, glancing nervously at the others.

"Quick, we have to hide!" Rose whispered urgently.

As they scrambled to find a place to conceal themselves, Albus could only hope that their adventure wasn't about to come to an abrupt end.
