The Gryffindor common room buzzed with excitement as students shared stories of their day, but Albus, Faith, Lily, and James were preoccupied. They made their way to the library, their hearts pounding with anticipation and anxiety. The ancient wooden doors creaked open, revealing towering shelves lined with books that held untold knowledge.

"Let's split up," Albus suggested, glancing at the vast collection of tomes. "We'll cover more ground that way. Look for anything about the Serpent's Heart, Hogwarts' history, or any dark figures linked to our families."

The group nodded, each setting off in different directions. Albus felt the familiar thrill of exploration as he ran his fingers along the spines of dusty volumes, searching for clues. He soon found himself in a secluded corner, the air thick with the scent of parchment and old ink.

He pulled out a book titled "Legends of Hogwarts: The Founders and Their Mysteries" and began to read, eager to uncover any secrets hidden within.

The Discovery

As he flipped through the pages, one passage caught his eye:

"The Serpent's Heart was said to be a gift from Salazar Slytherin to protect the castle from dark forces. However, it was lost to time, hidden away by those who feared its power could fall into the wrong hands. It is rumored that only those of pure intention can unlock its secrets."

Albus's heart raced. Was that why they had been able to access it?

Just then, Lily approached, her arms full of books. "Albus! You won't believe what I found!" She plopped down next to him, nearly dropping her stack. "There are records of a dark wizard who once sought to steal the Serpent's Heart to amplify his powers."

"Did you get a name?" Albus asked, his interest piqued.

"Not yet," Lily replied, rifling through the books. "But it seems he was ultimately defeated by a group of students. They banded together to protect Hogwarts, just like us!"

Faith and James soon joined them, each with their own finds. Faith held a book titled "The Shadows of Hogwarts: An Examination of Dark Forces". "Listen to this," she said, flipping to a marked page. "It mentions a shadowy figure associated with a prophecy about a coming darkness. It's said to appear to those with a strong connection to the castle."

Albus exchanged a glance with Lily. "That could be what we saw in the heart."

James, panting slightly from his sprint across the library, held up a dusty volume titled "Hogwarts: A History of Protection." "I found some spells and wards that were created specifically to guard against dark forces. We might be able to use them!"

"We should gather everything we've found and compare notes," Albus suggested, excitement buzzing in his veins. "If we can connect these pieces, we might uncover what the dark figure is planning."

The Meeting at the Astronomy Tower

After a few more hours of research, the group agreed to meet at the Astronomy Tower later that night. As they climbed the winding staircase, the cool air swept around them, sending a shiver of anticipation down Albus's spine.

When they reached the top, the night sky sprawled before them, a blanket of twinkling stars. They took a moment to breathe in the view, then gathered around the stone railing.

"Okay," Albus began, "what did everyone find?"

Lily shared her discoveries about the dark wizard, while James outlined the protective spells he had uncovered. Faith detailed the prophecy she had read about, and Albus recounted the information about the Serpent's Heart.

"The pieces are starting to come together," Faith said, her voice steady with determination. "If we can figure out who the dark wizard is, we can stop the figure from gaining power."

Just then, Scorpius appeared at the entrance, his silhouette framed by the moonlight. "You came," he said, a hint of surprise in his voice.

"What do you know?" Albus demanded, crossing his arms.

Scorpius stepped forward, his expression serious. "I overheard something in the Slytherin common room. There's talk of a dark force rising, one that seeks to claim the Serpent's Heart for its own."

"What do you mean?" Lily asked, her brow furrowing.

"The figure you saw is rumored to be a descendant of the dark wizard who once sought the heart," Scorpius explained, glancing around as if wary of being overheard. "They believe that by obtaining it, they can resurrect the old darkness that once threatened Hogwarts."

Albus felt a chill run down his spine. "So we're not just fighting against some shadow? We're facing a legacy of evil?"

"Exactly," Scorpius replied, his gaze steady. "But you're not alone in this. The Slytherins are wary of what's coming too. If we can work together, we stand a better chance."

The group exchanged uncertain glances. Albus felt the weight of their decision press down on them.

"Alright," he finally said, his voice firm. "We'll need to form a plan and combine our strengths. But we have to be careful. We can't trust everyone."
