Later, at Satoru's residence, the atmosphere was tense, heavy with anticipation. Y/N and Yuji stood before him, side by side, their shoulders squared in unison. Satoru's arms were crossed, his eyes narrowing as he gazed at the pair. The dim lighting of the room accentuated the seriousness of the moment.
"Y/N, explain," Satoru said, his voice firm but controlled, his words cutting through the silence like a knife. Y/N took a deep breath, her chest rising as she steeled herself for the conversation ahead. "Oniisan, Yuji-kun and I...we care about each other," she admitted her words barely above a whisper, her voice trembling.
Satoru's gaze intensified, his eyes boring into her, searching for the truth. "How much?" he inquired, his tone measured, his brow furrowing in concern. Y/N exchanged a glance with Yuji, their eyes locking in a silent understanding, their hands instinctively finding each other.
"More than friends, Oniisan," she replied, her voice filled with conviction. Satoru's expression turned thoughtful, his brow furrowing as he processed this new information. "I see," he said, his voice low and contemplative.
The silence that followed was oppressive, heavy with unspoken words and unresolved emotions. Yuji ventured to speak, his voice breaking the silence. "Sensei," he began.
But Satoru's raised hand silenced him, his palm facing outward in a commanding gesture. "Enough," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "I'll discuss this with you both later," he announced, his words hanging in the air like a promise.
Satoru stood, his movements were fluid and deliberate. He paced around the room, his eyes never leaving the pair. "I'll say this once: be cautious," he warned, his voice measured, his eyes serious.
Y/N nodded, relief was evident on her face. "Oniisan, we understand," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. Yuji added, "Sensei, we promise to—" but Satoru interrupted.
"I'm not finished," he said, his voice firm. "Your duties as Jujutsu Sorcerers won't change. Relationships won't compromise your missions," he reminded them, his eyes stern.
Y/N and Yuji exchanged a glance, their faces set in determination. "Understood, Satoru-sensei," Yuji replied.
Satoru scrutinized them, his eyes searching for any sign of weakness. "Remember, your emotions can be exploited. Stay vigilant," he warned.
Y/N's determination hardened, her jaw setting in resolve. "We will, Oniisan," she promised.
Their resolve was reassuring, but Satoru wouldn't relax his guard. Not yet.
"Dismissed," he said, his voice firm.
"We'll discuss this further soon," he added.
As they departed, Satoru pondered their relationship, his thoughts swirling with concern and uncertainty. Complications would arise, but for now... He'd watch over them. Protect them. As their mentor. And Y/N's brother.
As Y/N and Yuji departed Satoru's residence, they strolled hand in hand through the quiet hallway, their footsteps echoing in perfect synchrony. The tension from Satoru's interrogation dissipated with each step, replaced by a sense of relief and freedom that settled over them like a warm blanket. Their hands intertwined, a gentle squeeze reassuring Y/N of Yuji's presence.
They entered Y/N's room, and she closed the door, the soft click of the lock a reassuring sound that sealed them in their own private sanctuary. Yuji's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with affection. "Hey," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
Y/N's lips curled upward in a warm smile. "Hey," she replied, her voice equally soft. Yuji pulled her close, his arms wrapping around her like a sanctuary, shielding her from the world outside. Their lips met in a gentle kiss, the world around them melting away like mist in the morning sun.
