Chapter 14: The Ultimatum
The tension in the room was palpable as Fil brown eyes bore into Ren. He stood tall, his expression calm yet unmistakably dangerous. Ren could feel the weight of his words before he even spoke. She had known Fil was possessive, but now, there was something darker, something more menacing in the air.
Fil crossed his arms, his voice eerily calm as he gave her the ultimatum. "I'm going to let you decide, honey. You can either be with me," he said, his gaze unwavering, "or you can stay with your friend."
Ren heart skipped a beat. She knew this wasn't a real choice-it was a trap. The way he said it, the tone in his voice, sent a shiver down her spine. This wasn't about love or freedom. This was about control.
She swallowed hard, forcing herself to stand her ground. "Fil, you can't make me choose between you and my friend," she said, her voice steady despite the fear bubbling up inside her. "I deserve my own life."
Fil expression hardened, his jaw tightening. "You think you can have it all, don't you?" he said quietly, his voice dangerously low. "But you can't. You're either mine or you're nothing."
He took a step closer, and Ren could feel the intensity of his presence. "But let me make one thing clear, honey," Fil continued, his eyes narrowing. "If you choose him, you'll be responsible for whatever bad things happen to him."
Ren breath hitched, her heart pounding in her chest. The threat was clear-if she stayed with Friend, Fil would ensure that he paid the price.
"You don't want that, do you?" Fil asked, his voice dripping with menace. "I won't hurt you, Rena. But I won't hesitate when it comes to him. So, what's it going to be?"
Ren stared at him, her mind racing. She knew Fil was serious. He wouldn't stop until he had her all to himself, and if she chose Friend, Fil would destroy him without a second thought.
She had never felt so trapped. Every option seemed to lead to pain-either her own or someone she cared about. But she had to make a choice, and fast.
Ren took a deep breath, her voice trembling as she spoke. "I won't let you hurt him, Fil."
Fil smile was cold, calculating. "Good," he said softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Then you know what to do, honey. Come back to me, and no one gets hurt."
Ren heart sank as the reality of her situation closed in. She was caught in Fil web, and no matter what she chose, her life would never be the same again.
